Butler Tire insisted on this tire size to keep my set up at original factory specs. I still have my wheels, I meant when the Michelin tires were installed.

I personally like it better with a bit firmer of a ride, less floaty feeling
Noise change is not noticeable (always ran BFG KO2 on previous subs and trucks, been very happy with those, also happy with the Falken so far and a 55k warranty so well see)
Went back and forth with sizing, offsets, backspacing etc and my head was about to explode....kept it simple and happy I did
GX is brand new so i can get more creative down the road with lift, sliders, rims etc when she's a little older and ready to get beat on off road

i really like what you have done with your wheels. I just changed my front grill and am now thinking of also doing a gloss black on my rims and I really like the way your tires look! So I wanted to know, have you had issues as far as after hitting bumps any damages, rubbing issues , etc? Looking forward your reply !

Default Worth refinishing?

My wheels are in relatively bad shape. I'm thinking about either buying new aftermarkets, new originals or having these re-done. Thoughts?

A local re-finisher told me it would be around $800. Seems kind of high!

Refinishing a factory wheel is pricey compared to buying something new.

Do you still have the Wheels? Thanks

A quick suggestion. I just got a Black on Black (Onyx) GX 2017 still under warranty. It is Luxury and has all the works. I don't like the 18" Wheels plus it has the Bridgestone 265-60-18 Hueler HT 840's on them. Should I go :

1) Small Wheels (17" Tacoma or 4 Runner and Larger Tires like BFG-K02 / Nitto Grappler / Mich LTX )
2) Large wheels (maybe 20" wheel with Nice Looking tire) and just upgrade the STOCK 18" wheels with Slightly Larger Tire.

So at the end I plan to have 2 sets of Wheels and Tires. One for Summer and one for winter.
Either:

1) 18" With STOCK wheel and tires. &&&&& one of two above. maybe (1) small wheel and large tires.

or

2) 20" wheels with Low Profile tires &&& STOCK wheels with 275-65-18 for winter.

Any Ideas.

Finally threw the wheels on and the 275/45's worked perfect! The wheels are 22x9.5 ET25 and I might even throw some 1.25" spider Trax spacers on too. As many others have mentioned in other wheel threads, the lower inside 10mm fender bolt rubs a tiny bit when braking during a turn but I replaced it with a more flush bolt and zero rubbing.

Any pics of them on the truck? I am thinking of getting those too since they are on sale for a good price. How do like those wheels? I am concern about quality and also about weight of these wheels too. What tire brand / model did you put on it?

Sorry, I was having issues uploading from mobile yesterday. Here are a few pics. Black Rhino Traverse 22x9.5J ET25 custom powdercoated Kingsport Grey with Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico's in 275/45 I found for dirt cheap on TireRack ($145/ea!). I also ceramic coated the wheels before throwing them on. The car feels significantly better in turns - no more soft/pillow/mush feel when loading up the sidewalls. You can definitely feel more bumps in the road but that was to be expected with 22's.

Finally got some new shoes on wifey's truck. You can definitely feel more bumps in the road but that was to be expected with 22's. PSA that anyone thinking of going with 22's really needs to consider a 45 series tire, not 40 series like most have been doing. It really fills the wheel arches well and provides a lot more sidewall for bumps which will inherently be rougher with the larger/heavier wheels.

A special thanks to the Volk TE37 guys in this thread for sharing their aggressive/awesome specs which I used as a guide to help pick the right size tires (I tried match the tire sizes almost identical to those...in a 22" obviously). The only thing I need now are some SpiderTrax spacers to get closer to ET0. If this were my car, I would've gone the TE37 route, but it's not and wifey is happy so that's all that matters!

That looks really good. What is ET25 and ET0? What finish were they originally?

When he mentions ET, it's about the offset. More reading here: http://www.driverstechnology.co.uk/wheel-offset.htm
