also are there any changes between 2014 and 2020(apart from color)? the 2014s are cheaper and I could spend the money saved to have them powder coated.
Thanks for the feedback on the KO2's. I was thinking about getting a set but may scratch that thought.
What lug nuts are you using and how many turns on the studs are you getting on your TE's?
I am using the Rays lugs that are designed to fit their wheels. I'm not sure how many threads but I would imagine it would be plenty. The tire shop didn't say anything and I haven't even thought about it.
Awesome wheel choice! Please post pictures when you get them mounted, the concave face and color should complement the GX nicely.
Yes please! I love those wheels and they're one of the few aftermarket sets I'd consider adding to my 2019. Got a link to where you got them and specs? Thanks!
Hi all, contributing back to this thread that helped me decide on my wheels and tires.
- 2011 GX460 - gray, stock, air suspension
- Toyota TRD Pro 17” gray (PTR20-35110-GR) - local dealer gave me a decent price. Lots of fakes out there, wanted 100% OEM
- BFG TA KO2 255/70/17 - just a tiny but taller than stock. Thanks to Acrad / TheTopher for getting me close with the wheels and convincing me on tire size.

So I had a short exchange with someone on FB GXOR group and he recently installed 265/65/18 Toyo Open Country ATIIs, P version. I am not sure of the exact year of his car but it was a 2014+ Luxury and I am asking about his trailer hitch now... but he said he was able to get the spare under the car, although it was a very tight fit. Based on my research, the Toyo's have a rev/mile of 659.
curious if you have any update on hitch? I’m looking to get 265/65/18 defenders in this spring
I am the OP and I tested with this tire and size so see the post #1 for yourself.
Appreciate the post and your photos for sure. Just wondering if there was a difference in hitch. You have Curt? I’ve got the factory and am debating removal of hitch to accommodate a larger spare.
