I will be switching out to 275/70/18 BFG KO2s this week. I expect some rubbing but with a few of the obvious mods it should be ok. There is another member on here who did that with their 2020 and it turned out incredible so I am hoping to get the same results.
I put Cooper AT3 LT 265 65 18's on my 2015 Base with Premium package and had the bolt rub in wheel well. I also fit one in the spare location. I had the guy at the tire shop remove the bolt on both sides and replace them with a large rivets. Worked perfect and no more rub.

Found on Facebook marketplace for $350 as take-offs from Toyota Tundra. Usually a $225 tire and I love Michelin Defender MS2, so I figured I'd give the AT2 a try.
Rubbed on running board screw. Replaced with stainless steel bolt, washer, & zip-ties via Zip-Tie Method
Filled the wheel well and looked good up close. From afar, had the "soccer-mom" look
Very quiet on the road, but seemed to "float"
Had a vibration on highway over 70mph. Tried to correct 3x via road-force balancing, 180-degree'ing the tire, etc...
Cornering was not good. Honestly I think that 275 is too wide for the GX460.
I really wanted to like them since I found $900 worth of tires for $350, but ultimately decided I wanted something different, including wheels.
Setup #3: 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W (31.65") on 17" Toyota Trail Premium wheels
Bought at Discount Tire Direct for $468 on a flash sale ($117 per tire) + $127 for spare tire.
I plan to do 5 tire rotations including spare.
Purchased 5 17" Toyota Trail Premium wheels for $425 off Facebook Marketplace
By FAR the best looking of the tire setups I've tried. Looks super aggressive.
The tires really are super quiet for AT tires. Actually quieter than the Michelin AT2. (I'm sure the Michelin Defender LTX MS2 would be quieter.)
Cornering is MUCH better.
GX460 feels much more "planted" on the road
.
Here are some pictures for those looking for comparisons.
@mceagle555 Truck looks great with those Falkens! I just bought a set of 265/70/18 that are going on as soon as my wheels come back from getting powder coated. Bought mine from Discount as well who covered the road hazzard warranty for me due to being a repeat customer and they have a 10% rebate off your purchase if you use the Discount credit card so it turned out to be a great deal on the tires.
Here are a few pics showing the clearance with the KDSS rear sway bar with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265/70/17 (31.65"). Tire is fully inflated to 35 psi.
Probably 1/2" clearance, enough to put your pinky finger between the tire and the sway bar.
Note that I had to remove the factory tow hitch to get the tire in there. I'll be adding the smaller Curt hitch later.
This thread was useful for me when I was deciding wheel choice so wanted to contribute.
Method Roost Wheels 17x8.5 (0 offset)
Toyo AT2 265/70 they rub on the bolt for the sidestep plastic fairing
Will be installing Dobinsons 2” lift and SPC UCAs
Those look great, looking at those Method Roosts for mine also. I have read the center cap on the fronts might not fit, did you have that issue?
I have loved these wheels for a while... If our GX didn't come with the F-sports, these would likely be on our GX: https://www.mainlineoverland.com/col...ruiser-4runner
They come in 17" and 18" versions in a couple styles...
Hey everyone! I recently purchased a 2011 GX460 back in February with 123k miles on it and she rides like she's brand new. I am in love. After window tint, the next thing to do was obviously wheels and tires. I decided to go with the 17' TRD wheels I found online for a good price, and BFG KO2 all terrain tires. I went with 255/70/R17. It transformed the look of the entire vehicle. The tires ride great. Here are some pics, before and after. Next I am thinking of blacking out the chrome trim/door handles/grill. And I will also be throwing a roof rack on and eventually get a roof rack tent. That is all for now.

Got the factory 18 inch wheels powder coated and the center caps paint matched. The intent was to be pretty close to the darker color offered and I think we just about nailed it. Switched out the tires to 265/70/18 Falken Wildpeaks and made sure to do the handy dandy fender mod to prevent any rubbing which has been the case so far. All in all, I absolutely love the set up and have been very impressed with the tires. Planning on a little back county adventure this coming weekend so I am excited to throw a few mild tests at the truck. Only things left to do on the outside are the new sequential taillights (if they will ever ship!) and switching out to the 2020 front grill.

Looks great! Nice job! I finally got an email from Detroit Wheel today that my Chrome PVD wheels are being shipped. With Covid, I had to wait about two months. Once they get here, I'll get the painted OEM's swapped out and shipped back to them to get my $800 core charge back.
