Never do 5-wheel rotation ... no big deal. IMHO better to have the four on-ground tires be the same in terms of wear versus introducing a tire that is behind in terms of matching wear. Emergency maneuvers are under improved control when matching tires exhibit close to identical contact with the road from a tread wear standpoint. Yes the stabilization system will kick in ... but why introduce that variable ? Tires are cheap in the scheme of safety ... so any savings benefit rotating the spare is a rounding error ... so why go there ?

Hello all, I apologize if this has been ask. I have a 2015 Lexus GX460, I currently have stock wheels on there and I would like something a little bit more softer, would it make sense to go down to 17" wheels or should I just change the tire size in order to make it softer. I dont really care for look but I was aiming at the Stock TRD pro wheels because it looks good and from what I read it makes a difference in ride, but I'm not sure if this is for performance reason or comfort, thanks!

I made the switch from stock 18s with 285/65s to 17” TRDs and 285/70s. My stock combo including 1.25” spacers was 91 lbs per corner. The 17” setup is 76 lbs. From a performance standpoint, all areas related to unsprung weight will be better. You’ll notice it at first, but it won’t last long.
From a comfort standpoint, a taller sidewall will net a cushier ride.

I just replaced the stock latitude tires with defender ltx tires in the stock size. I noticed better ride comfort and the new tires are quieter. The latitudes didn’t do to well in the U.P. weather. The OE tires had 13,000 miles on them and they were pretty worn down. The dealer rotated on every service.

If I switched from the OEM rims with my current 275 65 18 Toyos to an aftermarket 18" rim with a zero offset, would the truck have a wider stance?
Trying to save money but change the stance of the truck. Tires looked too tucked now.
Looking at a few now but was curious if it would make enough of a difference.
And a Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Hi, I’ve recently purchased a new GX 460. Not liking the stock wheels at all. I would like to go to 20’s. Nothing too radical. Can anyone give me some info on the best wheel/tire size in 20” so I don’t have any “rubbing issues and wheels that would bolt right on? Thanks!
