I ordered front pads and rotors from mylparts.com and finally got around to doing the brake job today. My pads were down to about 3mm but rotors were at 31mm so i left the rotors alone. My 2015 is at 40k so i think the new time i need front pads, I will replace the rotors.

I think you may be thinking of the TS brake bleed procedure. TS won't retract the caliper pistons.

In that case what do y'all recommend to retract the caliper pistons? I'm tired of using cheap harbor freight clamps that brake almost every time I use them for a brake job. I found these on Amazon and looks promising: Lisle 24300 Speedy Brake Pad Spreader https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009OR8V6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jLhBCbMWH2C09

Actually I used a C clamp on my rears but used this double piston model on the fronts.
I used this model on the fronts as they are dual piston

Looking to replace my front rotors and pads since I'm getting vibration on braking and the rotors are likely warped. Any reason to not use OEM rotors and pads? Any aftermarket options that are recommended?
Thx

The DIY reference shows 136lbs/ft for the front and 74 for the rear, just FYI.

When I saw the fellow GX owner hammering the ratchet on the mounting bolts it made me smile. I would never do that for such a critical component as the brakes are.

The hammer should not even be in a "mechanics" toolbox ... is used only as a last resort ... and definitely not tool-on-tool ... and most certainly not on a ratchet ... video courtesy of Harbor Freight (Disposable) Tools
