2017 GX pictures
Most of us have read that the GX was being replaced by the TX (looks like a VW Pissat wagon) after 2016-2017.
Perhaps we may be spared, the 2017 Prado that typically gets redesigned and sold in the US as the 4Runner, is often left very much as a Prado and badged in the US as the GX.
Last week when I was over seas I stopped in a couple dealers to have a look at the current Prado and LX. Nothing much different between our GX and LX except for a few trim pieces on the inside. I even brought back a few brochures (it's something I always do because I'm a but of a nut that way).
Here is the 2017 Prado.... I'm posting a modified one from an auto show. If you want to see it in all of its stock glory (very underwhelming) feel free to google.

I think the question is for the next redesign. This is current gen with aftermarket bumpers. On your last post the bottom part of the bumper does not even line up flush with the body so I don't think it is stock.

The Prado is a fixture outside of North America and that is not going to change anytime soon. A unibody TX, if it were to happen, would be a market change starting in the US, not a Prado/international market change that then gets delivered to the US. IMO.

Yeah, Prado (and GX) redesign is not likely till 2018 model year.

So this is 2nd hand. A friend was at a Lexus dealership looking at the GX. Sales person told him the GX was going away to be replaced by a 3 row RX and the NX would be the RX replacement so don't buy a GX. Does not make sense to me but who knows what executives are thinking.

Lexus Fanatic
Don't listen to car salesmen. We know more here at CL than they know about upcoming models and such that Lexus is planning. It's like walking into a McDonalds and asking the girl behind the register what McDonalds corporate plans to do with their menu in 2018. Even if she says she does...she has no idea.
Lexus needs a 3 row crossover and I think they will have one, but the RX is all new, it's not 3 rows. The NX doesn't replace the RX, because like I said the RX is all new, they didn't just develop it for one year. Whether the 3 row crossover is a stretched RX350L or something or an all new model (the rumored TX) remains to be seen. Whether it replaces the GX remains to be seen.

The top picture is very aftermarket. But on my last post, the white one it is stock. I rode in a 2016 Prado a couple weeks ago and it did not look like this in the front. I do not know all the Prado trim levels and that could be a deciding factor. I ran across a TX, GX, TXL and VX. Not sure what any of them really finish out as. So perhaps the 2017 is the same with a little different grill than the one we had.

The white one in the above picture is a modified Chinese market version with horrible bumpers and huge running boards.
The rest of the world get this.
Only the wheels design is the most noticeable exterior difference between GX, TX, VX, and Kadaku, VX and Kadaku ride on 18"s instead of 17"s
