Well...considering how low it was. Top it off again. Then keep monitoring. After the 2nd top off and it still goes low? Then the engine definitely has a problem.

I took the truck back to the Toyota dealership I bought it from. They did a pressure test over the weekend and found a leak from the water pump. They will be replacing it along with thermostat and drive belt. I am surprised that as large as this leak was it was not spotted on previous inspections. Hopefully this is the fix. I pick up the truck up tomorrow.

So they installed a new water pump and pressure tested it over night. It failed the pressure test and the dealer said it may have been due to an air pocket ? This doesn’t sound right to me. Anyways they are testing it again now.

Ok so water pump was replaced and pressure test was good. I picked up the truck today and drove around town. When I open the hood I find this. The work was done by the best and most “OCD” mechanic at the dealership. Not very confidence inspiring but I think I’m ok. Never got hot and I don’t think I lost much coolant. I’m gonna watch this tank like a hawk for awhile 😅

Water pump leak.... While we're in there LOL
My lift is tied up with another project so I went to my dealer for an oil change today.
Was told that my water pump is seeping. No problem, I can get my hands dirty. Figured I'd replace the idler pullies and all that good stuff since it'll all be apart.
But wait... theres more! Im currently at 91K miles. Why rip everything apart again next year to do timing belts when I can do them now
Still planning on having my lift installed later this month. Need to get cracking. At least I have a specialist that I trust that can bang this work out quick.
My trusty service advisor told me the estimated price with a laugh.... $1100 for a water pump job my ***...
Gonna be an expensive month for the GX!
Anyone else get any fun surprises lately?
