Default Childs seat

Gonna be a new dad in less than two weeks and I want to keep the baby in the middle seat. Do any of you guys use the anchor( lack of better word) on either side of the middle or do you use the middle seat belt to attach the car seat?

Thanks guys

Congrat on the new baby. Using the center position depends on what is in the owners manual and which car seat:

I believe Lexus says 'no' in the GX.

My wife and I both went to a Child Seat training session. They went over how to install with and without base, securing child, seat location, and accessories (mirror, seat protector, important to find crash tested stuff).

They said the passenger side was the best location. You can easily reach the child if needed from the drivers seat. When parked on the right side of the road, you are not in traffic/curb side to access the child. The tech also said any side impact great enough to comprise the cabin space will likely be fatal regardless of seat position.

Congrats on the upcoming baby. We just had our first about 6 weeks ago - hence the new GX for us!

We put the car seat behind the passenger because it allowed us to use put down the bigger 60 seat when needed - as well as keep the ski pass through open if needed.

It doesn't compromise the front seat too badly when rear facing - I am 6'2 and can handle the front seat if my wife is driving; maybe not 100% comfortable but good enough.

Whoa! Thanks for the great info Bluto. I too have a newborn and we just attached the base to the middle seat. I'll have to tell the wife we need to move it.
