Had the exact same gap on the driver speaker in my 2013 GX after the passenger airbag replacement a few weeks ago. The plastic latch that the screwdriver is pointing at in the picture was pushed underneath the trim piece to the right. Flipped the latch up and reinstalled the cover per the 2nd picture, looks much better but not as flush as passenger side but good enough for me.
I have a 2010 Lexus GX 460 Premium. I recently had the airbag recall repair performed on my vehicle. After that repair, the car started acting funny after Iocked the doors. The interior lights flash and it makes a constant beeping noise. I usually disconnect the battery and it is fine for a while, but then it comes back. Last night we got stuck outside the car. Both the remote and the physical key would not open the door. It would be and the interior lights would fade in and out. The remote has a fresh battery, so I know that is not the issue. Any thoughts? Or has anyone else experienced this?
I would definitely call the dealer back and report the issue. For airbag recall, they don’t remove the dash but just the lower part on the passenger side and probably the center console. Something could be loose under the dash. Do you have access to odb scan tool to see if there’s any code?
Just a bump on this as all GX's up to early 2017's will need to address this at some point. Recall only goes into effect depending on zone of original sale and years
Actually got a call from the dealership saying they had an airbag replacement for me and wanted to schedule the install, never got a letter. Took it in and they said the only one needing a replacement was Instrument Panel Airbag (passenger side)
Got an RX for a loaner and really don't like the way they feel, to cramped.
No creaks or rattles, gaps or surprises with mine. I didn't get a full tank of gas but now have an email from dealer service director that if I come in for anything else in the future they will provide me with a full tank of gas.
Good to know. I see there are some threads that say only a glovebox comes out which sounds better than the whole dashboard. Dealer said it should take 4 hours, i setup an appointment for end of the month.
I got mine done a few weeks ago. It was in the shop from 8:30 until 4:30. Not sure why it took so long. It all looks ok. They didn't fill it with gas or wash it. Though in their defense it was a miserable wintry day. The gas would have been nice since the dealer is a 2hr drive away. While I was waiting they gave me a loaner to run out to the mall; it was a new NX; a cute little thing but nothing like a GX.
