Thanks for the write up. I have a 2011 gx460 and the rear door actuator is working just fine. I got the front passenger side door actuator replaced last week and it’s not too bad of the job. However, my rear door latch was kinda stuck. When you open it up you have to push it back to the position. It still opens the rear door just fine bur it annoys me sometimes since I have to push it back everytime I open the rear door. Anybody run into the similar issues and know how to fix this? Note that my rear door actuator is still working fine though

yes, and theres something somewhere around her on that. helpful, i know. maybe someone remembers.
i have the same issue on a '12
squirting teflon spray helps temporarily. this doesnt really fix the cable issue but it does seem to help by reducing friction in other places to the point where it works for a few months
i also keep a tool right inside the window for when this happens, that can be used to pull back the handle.

So this has something to do with the cable attached to the rear latch? I’ll try to spray some pb blaster sillicone spray later today to see if that helps. You haven’t got it fixed yet right?

its not normal by any means
if you have a scope, capture the power as it is activated, this trace should tell you whats causing the issue if its power related
seems a power bus deal if they are all failing and not due to corrosion
the coils can be damaged from too much heat (they die early) or from partial discharge (which makes internal sparks and heat)

The cheapo $14 eBay motor route is the way to go. You want the 10mm flat shaft motor.

Just got both front doors done in 90min or so. Be sure to double check the mechanism before installing and revel in your $1k savings!

How much work to swap motor? These 3rd party/7 year warranty units are more ($39.95) but still cheap compared to OEM.

Example Driver's door:

Amazon Amazon

The 2 motors I bought on eBay were $13.23 shipped to my door. Driver and passenger front doors were out.

Easy 90min swap in my driveway on this lovely day!

The 10mm, flat shaft is the style we want for our GX's. Will see how long they last in our Minnesota weather!

Did you have to solder them in anyway or relatively plug and play once you opened up the door lock assembly?

Motors I bought and linked above were just plug and play. No soldering required.

Driver's side power door lock on Broomrider's 2016 GX 460 failed this weekend... (Dadgummit!)
Looks like I'm now looking at this.

My (tech) friend who helped me install the rear seat USB power ports and helped me replaced my daughter's passenger side 2011GX headlight assembly found a Lifetime Warranty door actuator on eBay!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-GX460...ty!78744!US!-1

$49.99 +Tax and Shipping. Total $62.48
