Haha, no it didn't even really touch the floor. I do leave it on as a "feeler." I've gone up hills where its dragged, but no where that it has hung me up....yet.
Spent Saturday in the dirt this weekend off-roading and shooting guns with my cousins. We headed up the 15 just passed Victorville, it was a beautiful day out and the weather was perfect. Everything was going great until I decided to descend a steep rocky hill. As we were going down the hill, I could hear the rocks slipping below the tires and finally the sounds of a puncture. Luckily the air didn't come out very quick and I was able to get to the bottom of the hill before I needed to stop and do a repair. After assessing the 2 inch gash in the sidewall, I thought well I have 2 options; attempt plugging it or put the factory spare on. Since I didn't know how far we were from the main road, I went ahead and started shoving 2-3 plugs in the hole at a time. After 15 plugs or so, the air stopped leaking out. I waited a few minutes for the sealant to dry up a bit and then began driving again. Surprisingly this held up for the rest of the day. I didn't feel safe driving on the freeway like this, so I stopped at Americas tire in Victorville and they put on a Pathfinder AT (I'll use this as a spare tire when my spare rim comes in). While waiting for the tire repair, I lightly yanked a plug and it just fell out...not sure how it was holding in, but glad I changed the tire out. The second picture is the descent that blew out the tire.
Bummer on the punctured tire. Glad to see you made it out. Are you replacing all 4 with new tires? I got a nail on the side but up on the thread **** area (really odd spot for a nail) and not sure if it is still safe to drive.

I only have about 4k miles on the Goodyears, so I will just be replacing the cut tire. I'll be getting a 17" spare and will put the Pathfinder AT on there.

I was hopeful they would hold up. I had worse luck with BFG KO AT's on my Ford Ranger, paper could cut those sidewalls. Also when balancing BFG's, I've had bad luck with them; I had to buy 8 tires to get 4 good ones for my dad. The 4 that wouldn't balance were requiring nearly 1 pound of weight, that's just excessive, even for a 50lb tire. The balance problem with the BFG's happened more than once. I've not tried the K02 on my balancer yet, but have heard those are having issues as well.
Not offroad by any means but on a recent trip to Eastern Sierra, I found some dirt roads and a lake shore to play on. It was fun just to get it off pavement for a bit. Some pics.
It was nice taking the dirt road down to Mono lake.

Roads not paved, still qualifies IMO. Amazing shots!
do you feel that crawl control is a must on gx? Is luxury model even worth the money?
I apologize that I did not see your reply and question before now. I use crawl control only very occasionally. However, when I do use it, it is really a nice feature as it literally allows you to both accelerate and brake without taking your foot off of the throttle pedal. Going up or down a very steep hill is where you would use it the most.

So crawl is 5 different speeds? FSM seems to suggest that. I assume DAC on "non-crawl" models is basically a fixed speed downhill crawl control. I've used it a few times on steep hills. There is mention in FSM about overheating issues if used for extended periods of time.
Crawl Control - 1 to 5 MPH
DAC- appears to be around 3 MPH
