No worries
Actually your post came in a good time since I need to check the fluid level in my transmission. Hope to be able to do it this weekend..

The manual specific states "Toyota WS" not WS equivalent fluid... so just trying to perform maintenance within the OEM guidelines/recommendations.... also Toyota WS is cheaper, more readily available, and wont be mixed fluid... not to mention at my proactive drain and refill interval with no towing the OEM fluid is more than adequate.

@PhillipT and @LexusGXFan I hear your points. I want to stick with Toyota WS because the manual does not state an acceptable alternative... otherwise I would likely try Amsoil...
(For every other system the manual does state an acceptable alternative fluid or spec.... engine, diffs, tc, brake, coolant, poer steering... etc) but not the transmission, for whatever reason.
I realize WS is a general fluid standard and Toyota has a 3rd party make their fluid with their specific additive package for the Aisin aw transmissions in our vehicles, which makes it "Toyota WS"...
I also realize people have reported using other WS transmission fluid without adverse results (read a lot of Tundra guys using amsoil and other fluids on their forums).

You're doing more than 99% of Toyota/Lexus owners with your ATF services....You're GX loves it!!!
When Toyota released WS (JWS 3324) in 2002, there were never any SPECS released on the fluid (i.e. Max Brookfield Viscosity at -40C, etc) as Mercon, Dexron, ATF+4 does.
Aisin, maker of the GX transmission, offers their Aisin Fully Synthetic AFW+ fluid (WS) with a Viscosity at 100C of 7.41cSt and a Brookfield Viscosity of 13,800 at -40C.
Most of the WS recommended fluid are in the mid 5 cSt. That's where my issue, especially in the GX is. The WS fluid was designed for FUEL ECONOMY (especially when cold) and longer drain intervals.
This fluid is one of most highly debated fluids on Toyota/Lexus forums.

Aisin reccomends to change fluid every 2 years or 12,000 miles!... https://aisin.ae/upload/lpic/lpic_5.pdf
I'm so confused... haha.
I feel like changing it more frequently can't hurt... every 2 years seems really excessive but doable.
There's doesn't appear to be anywhere stateside to buy Aisin AFW+ so Toyota WS it is.
I called all 5 of my local toyota/lexus dealers and none were willing to match the amazon price of $104 shipped (2, six packs at $52) to my door for a case of WS.

you can try to contact this place.... https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/143316...iABEgKkCvD_BwE in AZ and ask if they can get it, they carry other Aisin fluids it appears. (although they don't appear to support toyota lineup models)
Do we know that Toyota WS is not really Aisin ATF+ simply repackaged? (Aisin is partially owned by Toyota after all, seems like it'd make smart business sense)

I would like to believe this statement however I have never seen Toyota WS fluid specs to compare it to the Amsoil blue cap specs.
Anyhow, on a different note...
This appears it would fit on the GX since the 4runner and GX use the same tranny pan gasket p/n. (There are no other interferences with the added depth (I checked while underneath it. It would appear at least to bolt right on to the A760F Transmission.)

@Romanova when you had the pan off did you happen to measure the distance between the top of the level check port to the pan mounting surface? (or do you have the old pan you can make this measurement? )

bump for @Romanova or anyone else capable of getting this measurement... PML is awaiting feedback before selling to GX460 owners... I checked today and there are not interference issues with a deeper pan.
