Then you probably hear a bunch of complains about "I left my keyfob in the house more than 30 ft away and the car still shut off when I opened the door".

Thanks for all the tips and guidance. Installed mts and remote start parts pretty quickly. Then I had to order techstream to program remote start. Trying to install techstream on the computer and getting it to connect to the vehicle was the longest part. After an uninstall and reinstall it worked like a charm and remote start was programmed in about 5 minutes. If I had to do it again. I could probably have it all done in under 1 hour. Anyone live in the Bay Area interested in remote start? I’m experienced now. Thanks for all those that invested the time to figure this out.

ya i aldo bought the tech stream obd2. couldnt get the software to install on my laptop. it doesn't have a cd drive and i cant find a place to download it.

I purchased a cable on eBay that came with 10.x. a few years back.
This one to be exact.

Yeah..I noticed that one is no longer being sold on eBay.
I'm still a 2.0.4 advocate since you can get live data.... probably a lot of other cables out that work fine just as well. Many may not have use for live data though.

Reading the instructions, I think it pertains to the latest Remote Engine starter system which need subscription, right? I saw a "GPS Antenna" there, hence my guess..

Correct. RES+ needs a subscription and local RES does not.
