This has been discussed before. It is a bit annoying but it is considered a "safety feature". I'm not sure what the thinking was. I don't think anybody has found a work-around.
Agree that it's annoying but definitely a safety feature. I have small children and use the remote start every morning to warm up the car before taking them to school. They often walk out the door right before me and I wouldn't want them to be able to get into a running car without someone in the driver seat.
Oddly though, I was traveling for work earlier this week and had a Ford Fusion Hybrid as a rental car. I was able to open the doors and get into the car while the car was running, but as soon as I put my foot on the brake, the engine shut off. Seems different manufacturers have different ideas of how to implement these systems.
many vehicles will stay on, and shut off when the brake is pressed. the idea is that you cant move the vehicle without pressing the brake and shifting into gear. definitely can be worked around but no one who can do it wants to, or has, or has shared what they did.
A lot of timed specific steps that have to happen in short order. What page of steps is it failing at? I haven't looked at that document in quite some time now.

• Short pin already installed in the fuse block? Page 14
• Leaving hood open?
• 14 hits of the start button starting from OFF and ending at ON?
OFF →Accessory →ON
This is all before the TS instructions.
If you are confident wiring is all good you might have a bad remote starter module.
Do you know if Techstream sees the module? Now in the page 17 area. Not sure if it will show up or wizard will even launch if module wasn't connected to vehicle.
