Great, now you should know that there are three (3) ways to shut off your remotely started GX.
1) wait 10 minutes...in case you get distracted it won't run forever, 2) Press the fob "lock" button
and hold it... in case you decide you don't need to keep it running for the 10 minutes. 3) reach
through the door handle to unlock the Lexus... doesn't run while you load up, no exhaust fumes.
Can be remotely started twice for a total of 20 minutes.

Have you found the windshield wiper bed heaters (if equipped)? Touch the hard button next to
the Navigation screen "Climate" and find the small three dot "menu" at the lower right corner.
The icon that looks a bit like a Japanese hand held fan will turn on the heater grid at the base
of the windshield.

Large thanks, I will sure look for the wiper heater, but it's unlikely my base will have that.

Sounds like you have Comfort Plus and Convenience Packages

Do you have the Mark Levinson stereo?

One could basically option up a 10-13 base with everything but the Driver Support level options, heated steering wheel, AVS and RAHC.

IMO: In many ways this is similar to the Premium trim option on '14+ model

This kit claims plug and play and uses the factory FOB too.... notice one connection point is OBD port which stock does not.

Acrad35751, looking at the signature line of your post, you have a 2012 GX 460 Premium?
If so, I assume this will work as a remote start on pre-2015 rigs.
ALSO what will you use for a remote? I have a 2013 Premium and I don't see a "Remote Start" on my fob.
My fob has:
  • Lock
  • Unlock
  • Rear hatch
  • Alarm
That's it.
I assume you'll need a new remote?

Assuming one doesn't have a defective harness and associated ECU the OEM kit should work on all '10-'15 models

Once installed you utilize the LOCK button to start vehicle.

Thanks for the remote instruction! I may look into that after I install Multi-Terrain and Crawl-Control!
I just need the time to install those first.
Also, Acrad, I believe you've installed the MT and CC on your rig?
If so, how many bananas for the install and how long?
Can it be done in a day? Or part of a day?
I'm an engineer, so I have some skills and a lot of tools, except the panel removing plastic tools that I've seen. I can get those...

It took me about 25-30 min for the MTS...most of that time was trying to figure out how to best remove the bolts for the lower airbag module - but I didn't really remove the airbag, just loosen it. Once figured that out it was pretty simple. The PDF for installing the remote starter shows alot of those steps.

The Crawl Control was quicker but remember to put a towel under the console to prevent the screw to drop it. I lost a screw in there somewhere LOL.

The Techstream steps took the most time.

Both could be done in a few hours. Not really that many screws to deal with as most things pop out.

You will want to get yourself setup with a Techstream install and confirm it works by maybe adjusting some of the customization features

If you have the HVAC controls on the back of the center console you would have 3 zone heating/cooling and second row heated seats

There are 2 features on the GX that I have yet tried.
The wiper heater and the headlight washer. I did try the full blow front vent feature a couple of times during the summer and it was nice haha.
