I need to get the car out at night and see how it looks. I haven't done that yet. Something worth noting is that I did have the car in reverse gear (back up lights illuminated) while I plugged in the new LED bulbs so I could tell if they were working. I learned that those LED bulbs are polarity sensitive, and sometimes you don't get them in properly the first try. The only way to know is that they don't light up, then you flip them and they work.
Thanks. the last back up LED I installed was bright to look at but didn't do squat for brightness LOL...probably the cheap LEDs I used. I'll look into replacing these when they burn out.
Unfortunately I've had a number of them go out on me over the years including VLEDs. They do give a modern look though but as bbqsoup stated output can be all over the place.. I'm just gonna keep all lighting stock on my GX
You're a lifesaver! I dropped my backup light bulb into the box and glad I found your post! Too bad I didn't see it before I replaced the back-up lights and had to get dirty, twisted my arm and ate lots of dusts! LOL
While I was at it, I also replaced the rear side-markers with 194 LED. Maybe it's still bright out, I didn't find the LED look that different from the original incandescent bulb. Sort of the same situation with the front side-marker, replacing the bulb with LED didn't make a big difference. The LED back-up lights did though.

I know my pictures are from the driver's side, but it's really the same for the passenger side as well.
Black plastic piece is removable. My entire arm was able to fit in there. Removal of 2 screws will allow you to remove the entire lens unit.
Can anyone tell me how to access the rear reverse lights on the passenger side of the vehicle. I need to replace the bulb. The lights are not on the back door. They are right above the bumper. I don't see any way to access the light bulbs.
Open the back gate. You should see two bolts that hold the taillight assembly. Remove bolts and carefully remove assembly from the vehicle. Access the bulbs by twisting the sockets to unlock and remove. Replace bulb and reverse the order to reassemble. Bob’s your uncle!
changed my reverse lights today might as well add couple picture to the forum.
1. took the tail lights off with 2x 10mm fastened with 10mm bolts
2. wiggle and pop the tail lights off.
3. take the plastic cover that leads down to the fog light housing.
4. stick your arms in about a foot and feel for the reverse lights . Turn it counter clockwise
and remove the bulb.
5. replace with led struggle about 5 mins to put the bulb back in.
6. enjoy your bright reverse led lights.

You could also do it directly from the bottom, no need to remove the tail lights.
