I'm supposed to pick it up later today; so we'll see. So far the dealer has been great!
The 2010-2013 GX460 is covered under a warranty for 4 years and 50k miles for P0418/P244x codes and in some places like California for 7 months or 70k miles.
The 2014-2015 are covered for P2440/P2442 in freezing conditions with a reflash of the ECM that most likely makes the pumps run occasionally on shutdown fro 8 years or 80k miles.
After they have done it once under the warranty they typically will not touch it again.

If you are in a CARB state

https://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-...nomy/carb4.htm

They upped the warranty to 10 years or 150k miles.

It was covered and I didn't have any out of pocket expense related to it. They covered it under warranty but assuming it's because of that enhanced warranty mentioned above.

Glad to see it got fixed. Did they say if there's an extended "warranty" after the fix or it is still within the 150k miles/10yrs?

^^ My understanding is that it is a one time fix.

tecman: Sorry..if you already stated this... do any codes show up with the bypass on?

Just curious for those in emission test states. I am in one of them but anything 2009 and newer never needs an emission test and WA state is phasing out all tests as of 2020.

I have a new Airaid filter & pre-filter available in the classifieds:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx4...de-airaid.html
It's exterior dimensions is smaller than the UNI and includes the water repellent pre-filter.

TECMAN...

Just wondering if you had the secondary air injection replaced at the dealer and if the dealer honored the warranty enhancement with the modified Uni filter?

I put it back to stock before I took it to the dealer to be replaced.

Default 2012 GX engine air pump failure $2500

I have a 2012 GX460 with 66,000 miles it has had zero problems since new only service items are oil ,tires and filters ,brakes. I have really loved this vehicle .
Yesterday check engine light came on , 4Lo , and trac control light on .
I took to dealer today and they said some sort of air pump in engine that pumps air into engine had failed and would require replacing the part is $850 and labor is the rest $1500.
He said it would eventually go into limp mode if not fixed. and was common problem with the toyota and lexus models like the GX, Sequoia , and 4 runners..
I asked about the traction control and 4lo and he said they all just come on to get your attention , but they were fine?

Does anyone have any infor about this ?

It is under warranty if so.

Yeah.. that shouldn't cost you a dime. Show them the TSB/Warranty letter about it in that thread. 10 years from in-service date or 150k miles

Interesting. So this was common on these as this is the first time I have seen this fault in the system?
