Pretty sure that is a turbo 4 and not a 6 right?

Yup you’re right. It’s turbo 4 NX300. Pretty nice pick up though

Was it within the first minute after starting vehicle up?

It was definitely a bit sluggish to get up to speed but I was able to get on the freeway to about 50mph. Due to traffic, I couldn’t go faster before exit.

I noticed the MTS light as well and I’m probably the first CC/MTS mode with Secondary air pump code.

edit: I swapped out the filter before taking it in.

Yes, as soon as I started it up first thing in the morning after parked overnight. Usually the air pump turns on for 5-10sec at first start in the morning and quiet down. But it kept going on for a while and rpm stays higher longer than normal too.
I took a long 600miles road trip over the weekend too and was glad that it didn’t happen on the road.

Right before the fill up, I did a long road trip that average almost 20mpg so that range jumped a bit. I usually get 320-330 mix driving. LOL

The P2442 error that bbqsoup got can also affect 14-16 models

The TSB in thread above ....I believe modifies the programming of when air pump works as it addresses a freezing temp issue with air valves sticking open.

Just picked up the GX with a compliment car wash - it was pretty filthy LOL.
Like Romanova mentioned in a few posts up, 2 parts were replaced

17610-0C040 AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY
04006-37138 KIT AIR SWITCHING VALVES

I was able to look at the price list and it was $391 for labor, $$672 for the air pump and $418 for the valve kit.

On the written work order, it also mentioned code P1605 (rough idle) but I didn't see that when I pulled it with OBDII
One thing interesting is it said "REPLACE DEBRIS FILLED SECONDARY AIR PUMP". It looks like some debris may have gotten in there with the old plastic cap.

The new pump now has a black plastic cover.

That's really odd.... I can't imagine anything getting past the UNI.

Did you remove the foam after putting the UNI on there?

Still highly recommend installing the bypass, even with the new setup. The pump changed but no indication the valves changed that can fail with a good pump so if you want a guarantee of 100k miles or more, install the bypass and done...
Lifetime warranty for the bypass and no more Lexus warranty for the system after replacement.

Yes I removed the foam when installing the unifilter. The internal is really clean and I didn’t see any evidents of debris or dirt in there.
The unifilter is pretty dirt now.

Interesting about that P1605 error. I saw that as a old historical code when I did a full Techstream health check a few weeks back. No idea when that occurred. I reset code and will check again in a few weeks.

I was surprise by that too as I checked it a few times before with ODB Fusion and didn't see that code.
A few days before the P2442 code, I did a road trip and I did noticed it was a big laggish going up hill and I have to use 3rd gear very often. I didn't really pay attention and thought it was just hill climbing normally. But I remember have to shift gear more than usually on one stretch of climb a few miles from home at 65mph. It could be that the issue had started around there but not enough to get the lights kick off.

The truck starts up seems a bit quieter now, before the pump can get pretty loud when cold.

If it shows up in TS again I'll double check with Fusion to make sure it is showing up there as well.

I wonder if an open air valve like your error indicated can become the equivalent of a bad exhaust leak?

Exhaust manifold leaks like where this is plumbed in at will cause a loss of power IIRC.

The GX definitely feels a bit snappier especially when in higher gear. Sometimes in cold morning it felt a bit sluggish and the engine roared louder when I pulled out the driveway. I'll pay more attention to it the next few days but the engine is quieter after the initial pump started up.
