tecman: Didn't you say you could erase codes even while running and for that vehicle trip it wouldn't set it into limp mode when you were having problems early on?

Correct, I could get out of limp mode while in motion with the Carista app but it is a slow process. Sorry I am not understanding the bold quote.

Yeah...not sure why that posted as a bold quote....

If you unplug and clear the codes, you should be fine to drive it as that is how I got my GX to the dealership for this repair. Once it sits overnight and cools off completely, when you plug it back in the codes should reappear immediately.
If they agree to reimburse, make sure you get some sort of official verification stating that. Remember, it's an expensive repair... over $2,000 IIRC.

Ha Acrad, I put it in bold to show that I am not sure what the question is. If the question is about going into limp mode after the morning start up I don't think I ever did.

Sorry..didn't catch that about bold. I was just asking if one didn't disconnect anything if they could reset a limp code condition every time they used vehicle but they would have to do this on each ignition Start Cycle as the reset wouldn't carry over to next Start Cycle of vehicle.

P2441 and Warranty
Hey everyone,
Long time lurker in here and it definitely helped when purchasing our 2013 GX 460 Premium last week. This week we got the CEL, 4Lo flashing, and Trac Off message that everyone seems to deal with at some point. I knew what it likely was and just cleared the code and kept driving it over the weekend since the dealership was closed on Sunday. Came back on today and I went ahead and took it in to have the warranty work taken care of. Before I did so, I hooked up my OBD reader and pulled one code, P2441. I didn't think anything of it since the code indicated an issue with the Secondary Air Pump. After dropping it off, I came home and read through the big thread on here pertaining to those issues and noticed that the TSB stated that it covered P2440, P2442, and, I think, P2445. No mention of P2441. That makes me worry a little, as I don't want to shell out $1k+ to fix something that seems related to the common issue everyone has.
Anyone have any insight to what I'm going to hear from the dealer tomorrow, as they couldn't check it out today and are supposed to get back to me tomorrow after diagnostics. No other codes other than P2441, which states the valve is stuck closed, not open like the TSB states on the other codes. Thanks in advance! This forum is a huge help with these specific questions so I came right home from the dealership and posted so I am prepared tomorrow when they call.

Awesome, thanks! I see your name in just about every post on here, so I trust your word just about as much as if I called corporate!
I'll report back tomorrow with what the dealer says, just in case anyone else with only the P2441 code searches on here. I searched the forums and didn't see anyone with only that code get the fix done at no charge from the dealer, which is why I made this thread rather than just post on the bigger warranty thread.

But yeah, I feel confident with no warranty problems.

Update: Code was covered by the warranty! They tried to say that I had a TPMS light on and needed to replace a sensor (light wasn't on when I dropped it off, and I don't have one now that I picked it up) and tried to get me to replace spark plugs and drive belt (it's time, will have that done later), but was able to leave without paying a dime. Thanks, Tecman, for the reassurance!

Good to hear you are covered!! I await my day but also keep a cheap OBD reader under the passenger seat just in case I forget my phone to stay out of limp mode. :-)
