In theory anyway the KDSS on the 460 should make for a better handler in the corners. Did you have one of the rare 470s with the sport trim w/KDSS?

No, my 470 didn't have KISS. I agree there should be no reason for it to handle better and go faster than the newer 460 with KISS, but it still felt like it did. It was simply a more fun to drive vehicle. Perhaps it all comes down to less weight.
