Finally got a chance to install the OEM Lexus trailer hitch. Bought a Lang thread chaser kit to ensure nice clean threads for everything. Well it didn't work for *****, and I ended up having to buy taps which worked perfectly.
Ordered the entire set on eBay from the good folks of Bell Lexus North Scottsdale
Thanks! I actually got my salesman to hook me up with the full set, including the middle piece that covers the third row! Harassing him for an exhaust tip now! Hahaha
2011 Premium with ML. Finished up replacing the front speakers. Went with the Kenwood 6x9/3.5 set and plenty of sound deadening. Not an exact drop in fit, but only required some creative mounting.
After a quick test and tune, I realized the new weak link is the rattle in the subwoofer. What I found was there is a small gap behind the back of the plastic subwoofer enclosure and the rear quarter panel. At high volume this would create an annoying buzzing and vibrating noise.
I was able to take an old piece of subwoofer box carpet maybe 12 square inches, fold in half and carefully shove the carpet between the 2. Instant success. Subwoofer sounds so good I may not even decide to replace it. Easy access through the jack compartment.
one cause can be if someone ever raises the jack while in position to tighten its fit, this will break a small metal support for the subwoofer then get the rattle.
Installed a rear diff breather extension and placed the end of the breather hose and valve behind the rear driver's side tail lamp. Now I have piece of mind for all my planned deep water crossings

Good mod, I remember early in my career replacing a customer's rear differential in a new 1977 FJ40, there was no oil in it and the gears and bearings were cooked. Less than 2 months later the customer returned and again the rear diff was empty of oil and cooked. Questioning the customer we discovered he would park the FJ in a creek and fish from it, the water contaminated oil in the diff would evaporate with the heat from the highway drive after. Toyota did warranty the two diff replacements but cautioned the customer further damage from hit fishing method would not be covered.
(yesterday evening) took it for a drive in the rain and exercised all the buttons and switch and air suspension as part of my quarterly PM check. Everything worked like a charm... 4Lo, CDL, AVS, Rideheight etc... gotta love toyo/lexus qdr.
I wanted the black OEM taillights and I finally found them on amazon. Ordered them, they do have a cheap feel to them, they look good and are brighter than the OEMs
here are some pics
