"What did you do to your..." thread?

I did the area on the roof because I thought about it but failed to do it on my IS-F. As (my bad) luck would have it, I got hit by a rock, dead center, on the leading edge of the roof. The mark was bigger than it had to be because it was a direct, head on impact, as opposed to the glancing blows are vehicles usually experience. That was 10-years ago and still remains the only nick marring the exterior of that car. Told myself I would not make that mistake again.
May have to consider that bumper addition you described.
Ken.

the rear bumper I added since I am constantly standing on it to wash the roof or pack for camping trips. they did a great job you cant even see the lines even with it not wrapped all the way.

Just a boring oil/filter change (love my Budbuilt access doors) and washed my rig. It was all I could do to keep standing as it froze overnight while I was washing car. There was significant mud on side from going through the passes with snow, slush, sand, etc. I also wanted to give vehicle a rinse underneath as WA state uses a magnesium chloride deicer in the passes. It is supposed to be safer than salt but can still cause corrosion.

Used the grinder to make intial cut , the tape is a must for me to keep the line straight.
I had to switch to oscillating saw to finish the back side cut otherwise the grinder would cut the tire.
Also used the grinder to etch my KDSS line armor that has to be moved for this install so that it can fit back in place

Thanks. Still looking around for sliders. I have a favorite vendor who is local and makes really topnotch stuff but he is working on sliders that will fit with KDSS and not available yet.

Factory lights with CBI
After doing CBI Rock sliders needed to re purpose the factory running board lights.
Wasn't to bad (since you disecet the running boards anyway) you can cut the light housing off. Rotate 90 degrees and bolt back in place.
You need to cut one part once removed to get better illumination.
klinquiklinquist your build looks great. I think I saw your rig over at stellar bult the other day.
Get light box from running board and pry to expose binding post
Cut the binding post
Bolts in with only one bolt
Cut the "new bottom" of the light box
White balance is off not actually blue

Ha! Your post is very timely. I just crawled under my truck earlier today to look for the lights. Stellar didn't give me the lights back, which isn't a big deal... I but I was just wondering what I'd do. I was thinking of getting some LED light strips instead. Looks like stock 194 T10 bulbs are 5W... so I'd want to stay close to that.

That winch install is awesome. I had one on a previous truck and was about to put one on my last F150 Platinum when I got my wife her GX and then my GX... they come in handy. Awesome build!

Custom light bar installed
got tired of searching for a simple light bar that wasn't the type that hangs below the front bumper which will decrease the approach angle so I made my own.
1.5" tube with a pair of tabs on top to hold the lights. I only had to trim the plastic bumper vents 6" on each side and was able to use existing holes on the bar in front of the radiator for the bolts. I also welded a support that rests on top of the front crash bar to keep vibrations to a minimum.

Back in March I picked up a set of 275/65/18 Toyo Open Country A/T tires that were only driven on for 2 weeks. Owner changed his mind and went with a different brand.
Finally got the chance to get them installed a couple weeks ago. Only required minor trimming of plastic in the front wheel wells and had to remove the square plastic piece attached to the front of the splash shield. I was able to reshape some of the fender liners with a heat gun instead of cutting. New wheels were initially planned, but ran into some complications so I'm going to just repaint the stock wheels a dark gray.
