Installed an Odyssey 34R-1500PT today. This is an AGM battery that is a bit wider than stock, but still fits with plenty of clearance on either side. Odyssey offers a group 34 “spacer” piece of plastic - definitely purchase that as well - to bring this battery up to the stock battery height (otherwise it’s too short for the battery clamp)
Odyssey had a Black Friday deal - 20% off. This battery was backordered so it finally came in.
These batteries want a cyclic charge voltage of 14.4-14.8, higher than stock. The alternator battery output is electronically controlled and you can increase the output voltage by installing an “ALT-S voltage booster.” There are several brands out there - and even a GM part number that you can buy for a few dollars. I went with one of the ones I found online, and as you can see it works fine.
Stock battery is 530CCA. This one is 850CCA. 60% more power.
I know dual battery setups exist, but I decided to stick with a single. If I decide to add a 12V fridge in the future... well, most fridges these days have low voltage cutoffs and this will easily run it all night and still start the car (and I keep a Antigravity XP-10 HD microstart under the center 2nd row seat if not)
This should keep my winch & light bar happy enough.
Installed 12vsolutions remote start with carlink module. For future reference make sure you unplugged your automatic mirror closer OBD dongle before programming remote start.
report back on how that works. Does the app version require a subscription or?? Or, are you just using the OEM remote?

it works great. Really plug and play. Im using both the app and the oem remote. For the app the 1st year its free then its $40 for renewal yearly. The app is great and the GPS feature its spot on accurate.
Had the GX in for the annual ceramic coating refresh. Preplanned blacking out the chrome and grill. Added black chrome emblems. The folks a NEAC did an outstanding job!
