Sorry for the delay in responding. For some reason, I no longer receive emails from threads to which I am subscribed.
No pics, but here is a link to the place from which I purchased the spacers: www.wheel specialists.com. When you call the provided number, punch in extension 116, you'll reach a tech by the name of Jeff.and provide him the following information:
DRM-System 46 mm 139, 7/16 106 mm
Toyota J15 with wheel centering
inkl 12xDRM-Mutter 125001
inkl 12xDRM-Boizen 1253044
Item ID:46106107
There are also 25 mm and 30 mm spacers available as well but, as said, I did not want my wheels/tires sitting outside the wheel well. Others may prefer that look. Good luck with this.
When I do my GXs, I just use compressed air from the compressor to knock the stuff off that is light. For any of the other remains, I’ll use either Spray Nine with paper towels or glass cleaner with paper towels. IMHO, underside of hood is not place for a ton of water.
replaced the brakes and rotors. 2015 model with 71k miles.
changing was pretty simple, I only ran in to 2 issues. issue 1 was my floor jack didn't give me enough height to remove the front tires. I used the frame to lift it but it only had 18" of lift and that wasn't enough, 33" tires 3" lift. I had to fully deflate the tires to remove them, then push down hard on them to get them back on. rears I used the rear axel with the jacks and had enough clearance. rears were nice too cause I could do both at basically same time. 2nd issue was my weak socket set. didn't have enough leverage on it. I fought with it on the fronts and was successful after a lot of smashing with a mallet. I swallowed my pride and borrowed a neighbors for the rears and glad I did. I had a helping hand which made things easier, he is 15 and learning about cars. Nice to have help grabbing tools and the fronts I held calipers away while he swapped out the rotors. Saved removing the brake line bolt and bungeeing them. All 4 rotors popped off no problems at all. Even the rears I only had to give the passenger side a small whack with the mallet and it popped loose (maybe I need to adjust parking brake?). Everything was cleaned and greased and anti seized before putting it all back together.
4 hours of my Saturday (would have been so much shorter if I had the right tools) saved me $450+
Rotors are SP Performance cross drilled and slotted. I am a little disappointed cause I went with the black only for it to wear off on the first drive. sure the center part is still black but rest was a waste. Save money and don't fall for the gimmick colors
Pads are hawk performance LTS pads
1. Drivers front after test drive
2. Rear passenger
3. Front Drivers
what products did you use and want did you cover? did you wait for it to dry before starting again?
Here is what I used:
The engine was cold when I started cleaning. I sprayed the 21S everywhere and didn't protect anything, lol. Let it sit for about three or so minutes then rinsed off with a hose (jet nozzle). I used my leaf blower to get most of the water away, then wiped things down with an old rag. The front plastic covers were a little discolored, so I started spraying Griot's Black Shine. After a minute or so I wiped that with the same old rag. I started it as soon as I was finished and there were no problems at all.
It turned out really well for about ten minutes of work. I am going to do my Audi later today.
Time to offset all of these awesome offroad-spec posts with my mall crawler/garage queen.
New car regiment means paint correction and ceramic coating. Can't leave home without it. Before:
After paint correction.. I didn't get any close-ups of after CQuartz, hence a slight haze that's apparent. D'oh.
I also picked the worst day to take the after photos that really don't the pearl any justice.
And finally, I installed AUXITO LEDs in doors and running boards. The running board before/after were taken at equal exposure/f-stop for an objective comparison.
Got any video of your Lund running?
Suzuki is a nice motor. Both Tohatsu and Suzuki were out of stock when I was looking and Tohatsu came in stock first so I jumped on it.
I went for a maiden voyage yesterday with 3 people on board and it planed nicely at 20mph with a bit less than 3/4 throttle. It's still in break in period so I'm taking it easy but I'm hoping to get 25mph or so with 2/3 persons.
I also have hydrofoil too. It's a nice little engine, very smooth.
