Didn't even think to search here before hand...

Trim piece isn't bad but they are sure proud of those clips. Wish I could have got this during the mega sale a few weeks back. Oh well.

Got everything ordered. Thanks Acrad! Solid gold as always sir!

Ran the parts on Bell Lexus and then on Partsouq. Bell Lexus is $71, Partsouq is $45. Bell Lexus always treats me right and I already emailed them so I'll get the passenger side from them but I think I will also do the driver's side since I'm sure it's compromised also... I'll get that one from Partsouq and a few other little bits I need for the LS430 and the ES330.

It's a good reminder to anyone getting their windshield replaced.... you are living with something out of your control as done by previous owner.

These clips and trim pieces are consumables and need to be replaced with any windshield replacement. Shop may try to hold things in with whatever adhesive they have on hand.

the clips can bought found on amazon. ive bought their clips before and theyre of good quality.

as for the moulding, how did you get $45 at partsouq, when i checked it was $30

do you plan to clean the area before installing the new clips, my area is very dirty but im not sure how to go about cleaning it. would a pressure washer be considered safe in that area?

Put in 3D floor mats in front and second row. I have Husky's in the wife's truck. Used these on my other vehicle and really liked them... so got a set on BF via autoanything.

Took over a month to finally arrive. The fit is excellent.

And took a quick pic after washing it with the sun going down. The Diode Dynamic LED SM5 under the running boards look great.

The windshield repair place in 2019 tried to be cheap and not replace the clips with our molding when they replaced our windshield. It took 3 return visits of me complaining about wind noise to admit they didn't replace them when doing the windshield. amateur hour. They should have known I was serious about it going back stock when I forced them to use OEM Lexus glass but they wanted to learn the hard way.... if you have noise from the windshield area, it's likely these clips and trim pieces fluttering.

It's a $17 part now on their site. As for cleaning the channel, I'll just use degreaser and a brush to lightly agitate and then rinse with low pressure water. Did the same thing with my LS430 roof channels.

This week I received my Southern Style Offroad roof rack. Got it and the lightbar installed. I could tilt the lightbar up for more range but I don't know that I need to. There is a link at the bottom to a 12 second video of me testing the lightbar.

Ordered the Curt Trailer Hitch from Amazon for $130 plus tax on December 19. Got it today and installed it in about 30 minutes. It came with a top plate about a 1/4 inch thick to prevent any bending of the rear bumper trim. Very easy install and the hardest part was trying to put in the first bolt with one hand and holding the hitch and top plate with the other. I had to lower the spare tire about an inch to make room for the hitch to line up with the holes in the bumper bracket. Torque all 4 bolts to 86 ft-lbs. I am not as strong as I used to be at age 74 and I had to put the monkey on the torque wrench to get it to break at 86 lbs. Don't have anything to pull but if I have ever rent a trailer from U-Haul I'm all set. 5K towing and 500 lb tounge weight is all I need to pull small boats, rented trailers, etc. My GX is a 2022 with the Premium package. The Curt Trailer hitch part number is 13043. It's my understanding that Curt now sends the top plate with all orders for the GX460 hitch to avoid you having to remove the bottom trim piece or having it bent in a little without the spacer.

Did my first oil change (break-in) at 2,474 miles. I didn't want to wait for 5,000 miles so I tried to do it half-way. I also helped my friend change out the rear brake pads on his '17 GX. Overall, a great day wrenching on GXes.

Spent the past weekend swapping the nose, grill and headlights. Need to do the rear bumper next week as I’ll be out of town this coming week. Need to get the paint work done when I get back.

Just installed the LEDs and really like the brightness. Super easy to install and many thanks to Bowhun2r for providing links and instructions! Need to tackle the running board lights next.

Default My first work performed on my GX460

I did a deep clean on the interior which has black leather... gotta love that. I used a leather conditioner on every item that had leather including several redos on the
drivers seat. Best to keep the LEX out of the sun too. Hey I could be a tad bit OCD?

Drove the wife’s down to Ormond Beach, FL for a few days with the family. Going to Clemson bowl game while here. It drives so nice on the interstate.

Default Timbren Front Bump Stops

I ordered these over the Christmas break and came in today. Doing this in anticipation for a Dobinson suspension this summer. From past experience these are not easy to get out once they have seen a NE winter. So figured the truck has not yet seen snow/salt and should be relatively easy to swap out. I didn't have large enough channel locks, but I did have an 18" pipe wrench. You will need something that can give you some leverage.

Taking off the wheels and a lift would be the easiest. But then I woke up and realized I don't have a lift in the garage. Cut the wheels to the lock and was able to get enough leverage on the wrench to get the OEM bump stops out. Need to jack up the truck to allow enough room between the LCA and putting in the Timbren stops in. Added a bit of anti-seize and hand tightened them in.

They are in constant contact as you can see in the pics (at least with stock suspension). Total time about 25 minutes.

quite a bit of difference between stock and the Timbren

Stock bump stop has a gap.

After driving around to let the suspension settle from being up on the jacks you can see the Timbren is in constant contact.
