Default Received great information

have been mostly lurking and reading lots of earlier posts which has lead me to do a few things.
I installed a trailer hitch, put on the Draw Tight I ordered from Amazon. The info here helped me decide which one to buy.

I noticed that the coolant bottle was empty when I removed the forward engine cover. Checking here I soon found out that it is best to use use Toyota Super Long Life coolant. My Lexus dealer was great and gave me trade price. I filled the over flow bottle and added maybe a pint to the radiator. Have not seen any leaks or any unusal exhaust.

I removed the air filter from the air pump and installed the external air filter. My old filter was like new, but why take a chance. I found out that you can make a new filter out of Scotch Brite pads. It's very easy to cut with a kitchen shears, but I like the external filter better. Thanks for the great air pump threads.

Last I topped up the ps fluid, only took a couple OZ's.

PS, I almost forgot. I installed 4 new tires, Michelin LTX Defender M&S. I think I will like them, I'll comment later when I have put some miles on them. Parts guy said they are quiet.

Default "What did you do to your GX today" thread?

It seems like every car forum I've to has this type of thread in the sticky section. It's kinda fun to read up on little things members did to their car that aren't actual mods. Wonder why this forum doesn't have one.
Sorry if that kind of thread isn't allowed here (I see it in the Gen1 forum though).

Maybe the Mod can help change the thread title to add GX 460

LOL...ok. It has to start somewhere. We all love our truck so let's see what you've done to it. Anything is good, even better with pictures.

My 2010 didn't come with chrome tip and I like the look of the GX with it so I got one from a local Toyota dealer, around $43, Part# PT18A-89090-EK

Even the wife complimented on how it looks nicer with the chrome tip LOL.

Last week I wanted to test to see how much gas is left after the light was on so I drove it down to 5 miles left and filled it up just a a bit over 20 gallons. So with a 23 gallons tank, I got maybe 2.5 gallons left.

bbqsoup: I guess I should have shopped around more. I made mistake of assuming eBay deal from dealer in Scottsdale. Oh well... an extra $10 for the same tip.

This is one I purchased.

Today is garbage pick up day. My neighbor is selling their house so curb appeal is important. The neighbor put their garbage can on one side of of my driveway and I put mine on the other side. I back my GX into a 2 car garage with a separation so I am backing into a single garage. I hit my garbage can and it scratched my GX along with a slight straight line 2 inch dent Hard to see with pics, but you can see the reflection is doubled where it is in the red pic. Should be able to have it massaged out.

Two obstacles, don't hit the two walls while backing into a short driveway.... FAIL

that's sucks tecman. Hope you're able to buff it out. I found that with darker color, touchup paint works better than light. I bought a small bottle of touchup and clear from automotivetouchup.com and it matched well.
I also had a couple of dent remove from the hood too. Have you thought about getting one of the tool like those dent removal guy and try it yourself? Since yours are at the end it may be worth a try.

My hood before and after.

Dent removal is an art and practice is needed. Not my thing and expensive tools are best along with experience

Still a good price compare to the dealer's price . Have you installed it yet?

It isn't supposed to get here until after I have left town for my cabin on Friday....so I guess it will have to wait until Monday.

EDIT: Damage shots are always painful to look at

I ordered an air filter online part# 17801-38051 which is listed for 4runner, gx and FJ.
What I got was part# 17801-yzz3. Looks the same, fit the same except the yzz3 doesn't have the white foam pad like the original. The seller (a toyota dealer) said the yzz3 is the new part and Toyota removed the pad. Without it, it seems less restrictive and probably gave half a goat more in power lol.
Anyone knows what's the extra foam pad is for?

The other day swapped out the cabin filter in the glove box... what does that take like 60 seconds?

Put in Weathertech mats front to rear cargo area

Bought a BumpStep for when the hitch isn't on there... let others crash into that. I have some Weather LP frame covers but plates haven't arrived yet. In WA state new plates are always issued with new owners unless a vehicle is gifted IIRC.

Picked up the stock cargo area net cheap off of eBay. Also put on the OEM crossbars and OEM Chrome exhaust tip.
