I’m thinking treaty oak is a retailer, those look to be the SSO sliders. I’m close to getting them, just hesitant on getting filler plates for the entire surface to make it easier for kids to get in/out of the GX.
One of my considerations will be models like the C4 that retrofitted lights can be protected. If one doesn't want or need the underbody lights probably a moot point.
Will do. Crossing fingers...the tank skid was a direct fit.
Thanks, glad to hear that. I saw your install pictures, it looks good. I'm wondering if I should get steel now, my factory skid has a big dent from a hard high speed hit and it held up great... kind of wondering how the aluminum would look after vs the steel.
"When it comes to hardness, steel at same thickness is the harder material but aluminum being lighter can be made thicker and have a better weight benefit. The choice is here a ton of protection at a higher weight or some protection at a lower weight. If you’re mostly scratching your JKU tank because of the longer wheelbase, then Aluminum probably affords enough protection, but if you’re dragging across rocks in extreme rock crawling, I will go with steel."
There will be a delay on my Budbuilt skids but for a good reason. They weren't content with how their existing skids lined up on a test vehicle for the oil filter so they are reengineering this piece.
I would buy a skid for that feature alone even if I didn't go off-road as it saves some maintenance hassle for the home DIYer not having to drop that front skid plate.
Just to confirm that stock GX460 has skid plate and xfer case + gas plates(thinner metal), right? If not, then its high priority to add protection otherwise I would like to add rock slide. Any good slide with good price (metaltech in early post increased from $49x to $7xx, in less than 2 years) that anyone can recommend? Besides, how to handle the original stock courtesy light(under body?), keep it as is or need to relocate or add protection?
Thanks, I see, so the plate that you installed not only cover the whole gas tank but also the xfer case or you purchase additional plate for xfer case?
Actually it only does a partial covering of the transfer case. The TC plate from Budbuilt will connect to that one piece and cover it. They are doing some design changes that will actually make it custom for the 460 and not just a 4R retrofit.

Definitely get sliders if you plan on wheeling; keep an eye out on group buys for a good price on sliders, I've seen some on GXOR (facebook GX group). Up to you what you do with your lighting, I've not had mine on and haven't missed it, but plan to fix it some day when I'm done with a few other things.
I got RCI skids, got tired of waiting for bud built. except accidently ordered the wrong transfer case brace, but I took some pictures with the transfer case skid installed (brace hooks up to the frame, skid mounts up to the brace and transmission skid). The brace will require a minor modification from what I've seen to clear the transfer case...its kind of ridiculous at how long its taking for either RCI or Bud to come out with the solution. I work with a sheet metal company on a regular basis that could modify the CAD models, laser cut and bend all the parts, weld them up and powder coat in days, so I'm just not understanding the delay when its going to directly translate into future business/sales. Sorry for lousy quality photos, the lighting in the shop is awful. back to front front to back

I should be getting my Budbuilt within the next 2-3 week. I guess they are working on some new 200 series skids as well. They tell me I will be getting the first set that goes out.
