Why don't you just remove the air compressor or pull the fuse so it doesnt run....
I want to apologize for being that guy and not reading the entire thread before posting. I had no idea this was such an issue when converting the suspension.... again apologies. I hope those who want to or have converted their suspension find a solution.
The dash lights and warnings would drive me crazy as would leaving unused equipment that could kick on and drain the battery...
Spoke with the guy on GXOR and he disconnected the power to the air pump and removed the valve that is on the pump and left it connected. After he did this he did not have any messages and no more air pump. You can probably just run a resistor across the valve connector and disconnect the power plug and be done with the air pump.
I even put the bypass resistors in. So my question is how do I get rid of the " Check Air Suspension System" error since the compressor isn't working. I left everything hooked up for now. The vehicle rides as good as it used to so in that way I'm happy. Now to get rid of this error. Any help would be appreciated.
Rear suspension height sensors as well as compressor still have to stay attached. Some have connected just the electrical pieces of compressor. If the faulty compressor is triggering it...I don't know a workaround to that at this time.
Those resistors just address the shocks and not the RAHC (airbag system)
Possibly starting an old thread. I am about to remove the bags and add coils. I was reading up on this and then started perusing the FSM, as one casually does on a Monday evening. So I noticed that there is a Height Control ON/OFF switch in the Combination Switch Assembly (always there wired but only sometimes present as an actual switch). I looked into the wiring diagram and the "switch" is present. If the switch is not physically there, it would be an "open" and present to the ECU as ON. Is dealing with this as "easy" (since taking apart the center consul is so easy) as typing pin 16 to pin 9 (ground) making the switch look "closed" and in the OFF position? Another option would be to get a combo switch assembly with the physical switch and then press it to OFF.
This "fix" would stop the air compressor from turning on if/when the load on the rear axle was enough to move the sensors and cause us not to have to add in the washer spacers. (Also, not removing/disconnecting anything as per this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/201...error.1101964/)
do you want to disable a dash light or fool the vehicle into thinking there is a compressor in the circuit yet not have a compressor run? or something else? seems like a simple workaround.
