Anyone had trouble latching onto the spider zerks? Since they're recessed in the joint can't get my fat fingers in there to tighten the coupler around the zerk.
Bought the Lumax quick release coupler as it was the only one available in a store near me, but there's a hump on it that prevents it from getting into the U-joint to grab the zerk.
I guess I'll have to wait for amazon to ship a locknlube coupler out to me... Seems like the geometry of it will fit inside the U-joint.
Anyone have experience using it?

Ended up getting the locknlube coupler, well worth the $30 for how much easier it made the job.
Doing this (especially the fwd-most zerks) would have been nearly impossible without a some sort quick lock coupler.
Maybe I'm imagining it, but shifting into drive or reverse definitely feels less jerky now.

Just ordered this grease gun, the lock coupler and a tube of Valvoline Synthetic grease. The Timbren bump stops will arrive next week so will install that, grease this and oil change too. My jack broke so I will go my friend's shop and use his lift. haha

I also picked up the Azuno grease gun adapter from amazon to help with this job. Hopefully it'll work just as well as the more expensive coupler that was recommended on here. I'll need to get another valvoline grease cartridge. Mine ended up leaking all over when i stored it horizontally instead of vertically.

Edit:
Looks like amazon carries the tub version of the valvoline moly. I'll just bulk load a small portion and fill up as needed. This should keep the rest safe and secure when I need it.

The Azuno gun and lock arrived. They look very well build. Nice handle with anti-slip body. Hope to put it to good use soon.

I was able to grease these over the weekend. I still couldn't get to the one infront of the transfer case, the one with the shield under it. It always seems to point at the wrong direction and that area is really hot too. So I'll crawl down each day to see if it lines up when the truck is cold.

The locking coupler works great for those that are exposed but for the ones that are inside the joints, I have to use the smaller one that comes with the grease gun that that fit perfectly. I have them 6-7 pumps and heard the crackings and old grease oozed out. The sliding shaft, I gave it like 12 pumps or so.

I had to move the GX back and forth about a dozen times to get that one to at the right angle to access it from the passenger side.
The locknlube coupler that i used worked perfectly for the ones that are recessed inside the joints.

That little TC shield comes off with two bolts IIRC and makes access easier.

Yes, there are 2 bolts. It was too hot there when I tried it so will check again after I parked for a while. Will remove the bolts if it's not lined up.

Could you please advise if you are using Multi-Purpose one? since there are few Mystic JT6 on the website. Thanks

High Temp #2

I've found it to be quite versatile... u-joints, wheel bearings, and anything where water contamination is likely.

I crawled down under the truck and finished up greasing the zerks, especially the ones right in front of the Transfer Case that are blocked by a shield. This area was super hot because it is next to the exhaust pipe so I had to wait to do it the morning. It’s much easier to remove the shield, two 12mm bolts. Took some pics of zerks in case some need to see them. I didn’t take pic of the rear most one as that ones are obvious.
