I would delete everything and readd them back again. I have a 2010 and Iphone X and XR work fine with it.

There is this 10-13 update that goes along when they do a map update. Unit was last updated in late 2013

I have a 2011 GX460, and the bluetooth interface has either developed a glitch, or is no longer able to connect fully with newer iPhones (mine is an XR). It connected correctly with my earlier model phone. The telephone function is connected, but when I try to play music through the Bluetooth setting, I see the "portable player not connected" message. When I try to connect, I get another error message "Bluetooth connection failed. Please verify the portable player settings".
If I uninstall and reinstall the phone using the code that is provided, I get right back to the same place, telephone works, music doesn't.
The Lexus website only offers updates for 2014 and newer models. When I inquired at a Lexus dealership, I was told to "check the Toyota website for updates", which is neither helpful nor true. The Toyota website only offers updates for Toyota and Scion models.
Has anyone here successfully updated their media firmware on a similar year model Lexus? A map update would be nice as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Setup>Audio>Bluetooth Audio Settings>Register
After I registered my phone (Note9), I no longer got the error you were seeing and was able to play directly from my phone apps to the Car (PocketCasts and Youtube Music).

2013 GX Dealership Nav Update
Apologies if this is already answered, but I couldn't find. I have a 2013 I bought last year and wanted to get the maps/nav updated. Dealership said 2018 is the last available Nav and map update. Is this true - so no new roads since 2018 for '13 or earlier GX's?

I believe that is the same for other years as well.

10-13 are GEN 6
Version 18.1 is the newest map update available for purchase from your Lexus dealer for any Lexus vehicle using GEN6 and higher hardware. It was released Fall 2018.
On 10-13 models there are some firmware bug fixes that are addressed as well as this is a requirement to upgrade the maps

Thanks - is this different from the map 'data'? IOW is there both a software update (that requires firmware) as well as a database update - or is the Nav update, also the database update?

Just map data upgrade (database) and the system OS. I loosely used the word firmware.
I've never looked up what embedded OS was used in these units. I know in the past Infiniti used QNX.
I suppose one could just ask for the OS update but cost would likely not be far off from the map upgrade as well.

Thanks - so the best one can do for an '10-'13 is map data is 2 years old? Or are you also saying the even 2021 GXs will not have any information on roads built after 2018?

A Lexus tech on GXOR mentioned '18 was the latest. It very well could be as well on newer models.
We would need a '20-'21 owner to chime in on their map version. I thought that info was buried in a screen somewhere in nav.
Possibly in the '14+ diagnostics

I updated mine two years ago and many areas still don’t show on the map and they were built more than 5,6 years ago.
For the price of the update, you can just get a Grom vline2 for Waze and Google Map.
The one thing I like about OEM Nav is the upcoming exits info.

I paid $345 when I did it. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t recommend it. I thought it would fix an annoying issue that I have but it didn’t.

Price really went up
3.5 years ago they charged me $240 / $170 for maps and $70 labor.
