Default Chrome Rims Cleaning

Does anyone have a recommended chrome wheel cleaner product or method to clean extremely dirty chrome rims?

Have anyone attempted to clean the chrome rims using steel wool pad grade #0000 as seen on several videos on YouTube?
I just want to avoid the chrome from being damaged or scratched.

Autogeek always seems to have some good recommendations. Maybe this would help? They mention a few cleaners as well.

I use the Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Cleaner, have not had issues and the wheel brush, but i have only used it once on my GX chrome wheels.

I use crumpled up aluminum foil dipped into diet coke. Sounds crazy huh? Works great. Does not scratch chrome whatsoever. I did a thread about it on the RX 2nd gen forum, I'll link below. Really works great.

Diet is even stronger IMO. In this example; chrome wheels, it clean off really hard to remove oxidation from the hub bolts and brake parts when nothing else works well. Just can't get soda on any painted parts as it will eat paint, lol.

TECMAN...

What wheel cleaner product do you use on your DUB 22" rims? They are looking really CLEAN in one of your wheel photos.
Have your rims sustained any bending or damage due to the potholes in Atlanta? Just curious of the manufacturing quality of
22" and 24" rims in general and how easily they get bend and damage due to potholes.

^^ Last time I had a rotation and balance at Mr Tire they told me I had one that was a little out-of-round. Probably my fault as I have clipped a curb or two pretty hard.

I rarely wash my GX myself. I run through a car wash tunnel 2-3 times a week and when I get home I detail the wheels with Windex.

I use car wash soap and water on mine and don't dry or clean my chrome wheels with a paper towel. My wheels are powder coated chrome, not triple plated chrome like the wheels I had on my LS 460. I would be careful with wheel cleaners, they can have acid in them that can damage the finish. I also wax my wheels every time I wax my vehicle.

I agree, I would never use anything labeled as "wheel cleaner" as they may have harsh chemicals. Car wash soap with a soft brush.
