Hopefully this 020 isn't as scare as the switch is. At least this Japanese supplier seems to have a quantity. In addition...it being used in the Prado as well helps.
EDIT: I sent an inquiry off to Motor Heads Japan about availability of the Prado switch. For those that are interested in that path they may have a better price and their shipping costs are low. I'm not sure if this is correct or not but I thought I read in one of the RU threads that MTS and Crawl aren't available on the Prado in Japan so it might be one of those parts that isn't available from this vendor.
I think what I read is that the DAC button no longer works after cutting over to CC... somewhere buried in that 139 page RU thread.... we still have a ways to go to make this thread that long though :-)
Looks like no one here had ordered 040 ECU except me at this point Hopefully I won't turn my wife's '14 GX became a monster truck or a brick of metal, and ended up in divorce court

With the way this is going on parts availability you may hold the only 040 in general parts circulation. :-)
The guy from OEMvehicleparts.com told me they were only able to fulfill 1 of 6 orders for 60070 that came in on the same day but that I should continue waiting b/c Lexus hadn't canceled the order from their side yet.
Looks like this project may have rendered that switch set "unobtanium"... #DOH
@Acrad35751 To get the CC on a 15 premium, is a calibration necessary?
I think you mentioned the DAC file has to be erased and then do a calibration for CC. Is this correct?
I just plugged in the new switch but CC hasn't got to work. Haven't done the calibration yet and It is still the DAC light on the dash when I start the car.
cicio: Correct.. You will need to do the reset and calibration for CC to go live. Are you doing with Techstream or the OBD method?
Also did you take any pictures or remember if you saw the Blue and Black wires while you were under there?
If one doesn't find these wires the existing harness wouldn't support the switch without custom wiring. There is a green wire too used but it's one of those other in the mix.
Thank you.
No, I have no knowledge of either Techstream or OBD method to do the calibration just yet. Will look into that later.
Ok. I would check the wiring first though.. you don't want to go through with the reset and calibration if the wires aren't there to support it. We are trailblazing.
Take a look at the calibration PDF far back in the thread as well as the OBD video of the guy doing this on a FJ. The video at least gives a sense of what to expect.
EDIT: Would any '10-'13 Base or '14+ Base/Premium owners be up to looking at their wiring to confirm their wiring status on switch and driver support?
I can't guarantee anything of course but odds are high if on your driver support computer you have the Black / Green / Blue wires in upper left area. The wires goto the console switch.
These are the CC wires used in the schematic. This picture was taken removing soft trim above the glove box & below wood trim... glove box wasn't removed for picture. I removed the padding piece next to passengers left leg but you might be able to do it without removal as well.
EDIT: IIRC... on the Prado's that didn't have these wires they were still able to run wires and get it to work. Of course that takes the project in a different direction from relatively plug and play.
Looking at some discussion about the 050 and 051 modules I saw earlier in RU threads got me thinking because I hadn't pulled an image of it up yet.
I believe hzhao ('14) reported he had a 031. I thought someone else reported they did as well. Can anyone else '14+ report their computer version #?
The reason I ask is it looks like the 050 and 051 have a different electrical connector and this might have changed for the '15 model year.
Versus mine...
I count 16 pins on my old stock 010 and this 051 has at least 28 pins
EDIT: 051 has 30 pins
EDIT2: Part of the conversations have surrounded on the Prados that the radar cruise models could't be upgraded. We obviously know that isn't the case for NA models since they have it all. Perhaps they are still using 040 on current models here and wiring harness is the same as old pre-refresh models. If you intend to add MTS to your '14+ I suggest you try to get the rev # to confirm or at least until we have some further reports.
