Woohoo, I can confirm a 2010 Base model can accept both modifications! I used Techstream to perform the SKID clear and test and now Craw Control works! MTS and Crawl both work.
Congratulation for the successful mod. I am working on my 2014 GX today.

You got to post some pics LOL j/k...
So your center console now have 2 extra switches or you just swapped out the DAC for CC switch?
Spend couple of hours today and installed 040 and 070 on 2014 GX Luxury, and It's alive now. I want specially thanks Acrad here for not only provided many useful and important information, but also provided personal assistance when I was running into some difficulties. The end results are very rewarding and made GX particular stand out with true off-road ca[ability as it's own principle.
I am going to share few things that I was experiences during the installation. Physical installation of 040 and 070 has been discussed a lot here and experiences were similar. The word I like to emphasize is: patience! There is no additional steps needed for MTS, as soon as you get either 020 or 040 (depends on your model year), it just magically there. For 070, you will need to do ECU reset and re-calibration. I choose Techstream for the better visibility. That's where the fun began. I had version 12.01.xxx of tech stream, or it could be a demo version of some sort. When I connected and found there isn't any "Utility" tab at left side of the screen (as where as other pieces. without that, you just can not perform the reset. Luckily, I had another version of 12.10.xxx, it turned out that one does have the full menu items. Erase the ECU memory part is pretty straight forward, the initialization had some unexpected results. When I ran first time step by step according the instruction, it ended with C120 (-malfunction ECU). So, I stated over again, again same thing. By then, I was little worried, wonder if I had a DOA 070, or something I did actually caused C120. With no other option left, I decided to try one more times. That did the trick! For anyone who failed on initialization process, just be patience and try again. I think there may some communication timing issue between techstream and GX. At one point, I got some communication communication related error message during the time. After all settled and done, I tried it on the pavement with an upper incline slop..... even without on off-reading trail, it id still exciting to see it action.
Cool!! Good to hear things got hammered out. I had one ECU reset with mine when I did the initialization so I had to do that part twice myself and had some stomach churning too. Patience is a good word.

This is excellent info hzhao and Im glad you podted- because this is exactly what happened to me as well. After my first attempt clearing the memory I ended up with the C120 code and also my vsc light stayed on. I really started to freak out. It took 3 attempts before it worked for me. Thanks for taking the time to mention this!

You are welcome and that is what this forum all about, share the knowledge and experiences. I suspected there was a communication delay between the vehicle and techstream. Or the instruction had some typo in terms of waiting time during the initialization. Good thing was that made all of us became Crawl Setup "experts" now
As we going that rate, pretty soon, most of GX on the road will be equipped with MTS and Crawl Lexus market gurus might just figured to have future GX come standard with MTS and Crawl, then raise the MSRP for another $10K

It will be interesting to see if at least crawl trickles down to all models for '19. I have to wonder if the absence of MTS and rare factory crawl was to further distance the GX from the LX on the "off-road" feature standpoint.

If Toyota starting to offer MTS on RAV4 as an option as being reported, I would think MTS would at least show up in future Driver support package as like in Canadian market. Or there could be an separate "Off-roading package" with MTS and Crawl, as we have learned how "easy" this can be done!
