In those cases I'm usually going faster than crawl and I usually only use crawl for going down hill.
CRAWL is as useful as uphill. Just turn CRAWL speed up. I come from Tacoma/4runner world...CRAWL is awesome!! It is more for rock crawling than descent control (it is good for that too).
I don't think you will find many who don't find the value in Crawl. MTS just gives you additional options that TRD Pro and LC/LX 570 models already have. Doubtful your dealer would even realize you changed this on your vehicle and is a simple plug and play for around $200. Mod has been around here for about a year and haven't heard of any adverse effects adding it.

I have used it going uphill, I just find it more useful for going downhill. I too come form the Tacoma/4Runner world (2001 TRD Tacoma DC, 2005 Tacoma DC, 2008 4Runner Sport, 2008 4Runner Limited). But none have had crawl or MTS before, just factory atrac. So I guess I'm used to being in control of the throttle.

I know, but to be honest, i don’t like to modify something that did not come from factory...especially when it comes to electronics that affects so many systems. I think that the mod is great idea...but given that anything going wrong on my truck, the dealer will blame that mod. Because so many things are interconnected to it, i am just hesitant...again, i am very overly cautious about things! LOL. Maybe when my truck is out of warranty.
Personally I like a swiss army knife of options even if I rarely use some of them.
Canadian GXs can get MTS from the factory.. in addition they also have option for the driver side camera.
I agree with the Swill Army knife approach. Even through I have ARB lockers on the front and rear and re-geared my diff's, I'm still wanting to add the Crawl Control and MTS to my rig. Let's just say I like options.
- Thanks to DaveGS4 for updating the poll at top of thread for 2019 models.
- While I was taking things apart yesterday for the Glass Break Sensor and removing the following side trim I noticed one of the rear clips fell off but I was able to put back on. I had to crimp it slightly to stay on. This seems like something that could get lost in console so if you do here is the part number.
Does anyone need a 859A1-60020 2010-2013 module? I have one, new in packaging, for sale...purchased a 2013 and ended up returning it to Carmax and purchased a 2019 instead, so I need to get a different module.
Yes. I now have Crawl Control :-) :-) :-) MTS doesn't show up yet.. I assume the alternate Driver Support Computer will bring that online. I did have to do the reset calibration twice because I had an ECU disconnect in the middle of reset which gave me some pause. Everything worked as described. It just saw the switch... I didn't need to go through that part of instructions and driving the car straight can happen at any time...once you have a long enough stretch the front wheels show up on the dash again.
I now have the Crawl icon on dash versus DAC and a shot of it on. I tested it a couple times and works perfectly so far. For those that don't know... to activate you first have to go into 4L while in N and then to turn on CC you have either be in D or R. It prompts you on the display on what you need to do as well. I didn't include those screens.
you are a global hero to the GX community. This stuff is a game changer in my opinion. I’ve already installed MTS and now my CRAWL module is waiting in my garage for me to get around to it. Endless thanks for your passion to our platform.
