HELP! My GX cannot start after I added crawl control
Hi all. I was following the tutorial on this forum to install MTS + crawl control to my 2014 GX. A few weeks ago I installed MTS and everything worked perfectly. Today I installed the crawl control module and then did the zero point calibration with techstream. Once I completed the zero point calibration I started the car, but then I heard rapid vibration under the hood and it seems the engine was not started. I then immediately turned off the ignition. After connecting to techstream for several times I got error code C120A and C1241. C120A was always there and C1241 could be cleared. I tried resetting the memory and starting the test mode for multiple times but that didn't help.
What's even worse is that right now the GX doesn't respond no matter how I pressed the ignition. After the first click there is nothing on the dashboard. After the second click there is only a check engine light with the break pedal vibrating. I cannot event connect to the ABS ECU with techstream! It said something like "the unit does not respond"! I also disconnected my battery but that also didn't help. My GX almost died!!!
I don't have much experience in techstream though. Is it something that I could resolve by myself, or I have to get someone from the repair shop? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry to hear this.
C1241 is low voltage warning, it could be the battery.
C120A could means the ZPC wasn’t completed.
When you completed the ZPC, was you able to activate Crawl successfully and in 4-lo?
Some info in C120A from 4runner forum

Do you have access to a new battery to test? maybe costco? When I add Crawl to mine I did it with the engine running.
Maybe a weak battery threw off the code?

The symptoms you describe sounds like a dead battery in modern Toyota’s I’ve encountered with the buzzing pedal. You should check the battery voltage or get a new battery in there. How long did you leave the ignition on for?

It does sound like a possible bad or discharged battery. Do you have access to a battery charger or something to jump the car with?

Just an enthusiast like the rest of us here :-)
Hopefully all the info we have gathered here and elsewhere will help support the vehicle for decades to come.

make sure to read the book on changing the battery. on some years, a simple sounding battery swap can cause all sorts of damage if done with certain incorrect methods

My GX is alive
Thank you all for all the helps!!! My GX is alive again!
It was because the battery was dead. I jump started the GX and redid the zero point calibration, and now I am another GX owner with MTS + crawl control :P The "wheels" on the dashboard didn't show up until I drove it straight for a while.
It was weird though since last night I was able to start the engine right before I did the ZPD, and the ZPD only took 5 minutes. I would encourage everyone to do it with engine ON whenever possible.

Good to hear!!
What year GX do you have?
Totally normal on the wheels not showing up until you drive straight 200-300 feet over 25 MPH.
