I’m curious if there are procedures to follow when replace the battery as John00 mentioned.
Mine was replaced by AAA brand by previous owner almost 3 years ago and when it dies, I’ll probably go with an Odyssey or Northstar.
Thank you all for all the helps!!! My GX is alive again!
It was because the battery was dead. I jump started the GX and redid the zero point calibration, and now I am another GX owner with MTS + crawl control :P The "wheels" on the dashboard didn't show up until I drove it straight for a while.
It was weird though since last night I was able to start the engine right before I did the ZPD, and the ZPD only took 5 minutes. I would encourage everyone to do it with engine ON whenever possible.
x2 - I always run techstream with the engine running OR on a battery charger (not a trickle charger). I learned this the hard way with BMWs. For some reason the coding process can consume a lot of juice.
Just wanted to reply and say.........HUGE thanks to all involved in this thread. From finding and figuring these things, posting links, take down instructions, parts, and where to get them.
Thanks to all, I was able to get this down over the weekend. Both only took me about 2 hours, and most of that time was the tear down and reassembly of the glovebox area. I am so happy to have these done and working.
This is the great collaboration I love to see come together from car people, and not the toxicity you see on other places on the interwebz.
Adding MTS next week and contemplating how hard is the zero point calibration on a 1-10 scale? I'm somewhat mechanically incline if that helps.
You only need ZPC for crawl control. I would say it’s less than 5 if you use techstream. There are instructions(checklists) for each step within techstream.
The video posted by coinball is really helpful. Also don’t forget to click the crawl control on/off switch before you click “exit” as he mentioned in the youtube description.
Just got the dreaded recall notice and was bringing up this thread...I assume no one has had dealer install the MTS module? I will probably do it this weekend so if I break any clips they can fix my damage when they put the airbags in.
I thought I remember someone here or on GXOR who had a dealer install MTS and Crawl with zero point.... it would never hurt to ask but they might not want to entertain any perceived liability either
Lexus clips are so easy to pop out that I don't think you will break them. You may loose a crew or two when unbolt the lower part of the glove box though LOL...
Just use a panel remove tool or if you use flat head crew driver, wrap it with tape.

I just did the MTS install this afternoon. Super easy probably took me 40 minutes because I was going slow. Very easy and yes plug and play. Didn't lose any clips or screws. Here are some pictures of what it looks like inside.
