I recently installed crawl and used techstream to do the zero point calibration. I also used my MacBook Pro with virtual box running windows 7 64bit. I just searched around and got it all working just fine. I would say getting techstream running on that took the longer than actually doing the zpc.
This link might speed it up for others in the future as well
I keep reading about having to do this re-calibration. Time for a stupid question: Why does one need to do the re-calibration? Does it have something to do with the anti-lock brakes? Or??
You have to let the Skid Control ECU attached to the master cylinder know that the vehicle is equipped with crawl control. I surmise it is akin to selecting a different software profile in that ECU as well. The first part of the process is erasing the current DAC profile. The connector pins used for DAC versus SPEED are different and as the last piece of the calibration you trigger the speed switch to let vehicle know/learn it is equipped with crawl and then crawl profile is selected. If you ever want to revert back to DAC you do the same process all over again except with the DAC switch installed. Hope this helps some
Most Lexus dealers probably WILL NOT do the service due to liability issue when modification involves "out of spec" for the vehicle which is not "approved" in specific market. If you would bring a vehicle to dealer for "zero point calibration", the chances are they will either refuse to do, or only do it with original configured parts. You may know someone as a personal friend that willing to do it as a personal favor.
Just imagine, in today's reality, they did all the calibration, you drove off and involves an accident which was due to some fashion of ABS didn't work right, dealer and/or Lexus could be held responsible because they "contributed" an out of spec vehicle which has not been proved to sell in this market.
Hzhao, did you try Metro Lexus in Brook Park? I know some people there and I hope they'd be able to help - I just don't know what exactly to ask for.

I have been with Metro Lexus since 1993. I have to say that I am a very happy customer of Metro Lexus and received best service experiences from them ever since. If you do know individuals there in person, and there is nothing wrong to ask. All you have to do is asking for them to replace the Driver Assist Switch module which is right behind glove box. There is no other software setup needs to be performed for that one. If you go further with CC switch replacement, there a zero calibration will have to be done. During the airbag recall process, both glove box and center stack of radio and nav screen units will be removed. If your contact in Metro is willing to do that for you, would be ideal time to do them all. And worst answer from Metro would be "No". Since you are in the area, feel free to let me know if I can give you a hand for the mod if Metro couldn't do it due to liability fact.
Thanks, I really appreciate. I'm gonna order the part tomorrow and find out if they can do it when it comes in. My recall was already completed, so I'd have to see if I can get it done during one of my service intervals and pay the service tech a little extra if it comes to that.

Well, I was going to install my MTS today but this isn't going to work. I'm 0/2 on receiving incorrect or missing parts this week from different sources. I swear online retailers are just getting lazy.

Yup, lol. I ordered from the site in the original post Oemvehicleparts. It was just thrown into a previous used padded envelope as well. Hopefully they take more care shipping an electrical component.
That was strange. Did you order using VIN or just part number. That was a big goof up on their end.
You can send an email to Matt and probably ask for expediting shipping for the replacement.

Ordered by p/n...no mention of VIN in my order. I realize things happen, but it just hasn't been my week. Prinsu also left parts of my rack out of the box and I'm still waiting on those to get to me. I own an e-commerce site as well, so maybe I'm a bit more critical. At the end of the day, it really isn't that hard to check a pack list against a box, especially if there is only supposed to be 1 part in the box.
I just got off the phone w/ Matt @ OEMVehicleparts (he reached out to me in response to my e-mail to him, which was appreciated) and we're getting it all straightened out. Hopefully I didn't unnecessarily tarnish anyone's name, just had to vent my frustrations w/o thinking clearly first. I had an exciting week of mods planned for my new GX and it has turned out to be pretty lackluster.
