I can't tell from your pics if wires are terminated on harness. At some point may want to see if those pins above are terminated on the connector.

DAC use 9 & 15

and crawl/MTS uses these

That's the version I have.

Looks like I have the wires for it.

That ECU2 connection on pin 10 goes to the Suspension Control ECU.. not sure if that plays into anything here or just a red herring

If there is only one version of that ECU that would rule that out. I haven't looked into that yet.

eNx: I missed you question earlier... yeah.. that slip indicator light

Even though visually looks like it...just to absolutely confirm we have wiring from switch to skid control ECU you may want to run a continuity test with a meter

[Crawl or DAC switch Connector] ----> Skid Control ECU

Down 3 ---------------------------------------------> 44

UP 5 ---------------------------------------------> 13

ON/OFF: 6 ---------------------------------------------> 43

9 ----------> Ground

10 (I believe goes to AVS ECU) - I working on scattered schematics and pictures so not sure.

I only see one AVS ECU so probably nothing there. Vehicle has AVS so it would have to be terminated for the other functions.

[Suspension ECU]

You do see some brake parts denoted with off-road package but this was the same way before and didn't matter but like I said before...it may in this case.

Ok, I can try to do the continuity test, however, I'm not really familiar with wire testing so I don't know what you mean by Up / Down.

And if I have to replace the AVS ECU with that part, that's a little spendy. Haha.

He is referring to which wire goes to which switch function. When you turn the switch on/off it's pin 6 on the switch panel (console) and pin 43 on the skid control ECU. Up means when you increase the crawl speed (push up) it's pin 5 on the panel connector and 13 on the skid control ECU. Down would be pin 3 on the panel and pin 44 on the skid control ECU.

To help clarify on Up/Down... just in reference to forward or backward movement on the speed/MTS switch.

Hopefully ECU replacement isn't necessary but still a lot of unknowns.

You will probably see a lot of vids on Youtube but in simplest terms

One probe will go on connection on crawl/DAC side and the other probe on the skid ECU side. You will likely need a piece of wire to get connection from your meter's probe to the engine bay.

If there is continuity or around 0 Ω (ohms)....basically meaning a connected wire with no resistance. Think an extension cord... just a wire run. If there is no connection or non continuity (infinite ohms) you have no connection or a broken wire.

Hopefully this helps

Default Crawl mode

I need some help. I went to some fairly irregular ground in the desert and did my first test on the newly installed Crawl Control. It sounded like a manual transmission that was being shifted without the clutch. Going to the lowest speed sounds the worst.

The descent control never made any noise and I don't know what Crawl Control should sound like but this aint a lexus sound for sure.

Any help with what to look at or look for is certainly appreciated.

CC makes ABS activation sounds. Slower seems to make more sounds. You can hear the sound move around as different wheels are stopped or allowed to turn. Check out some youtube vids.

Yeah that's about it only seems louder. I can feel the responses in the break pedal if I hold my foot on it slightly. I just didn't expect that much noise. I had hoped for a very low speed cruise control to watch for game etc.

Thanks for the reply.

adjusting the speed higher might result in less noise. this also depends on how level the ground is and how even the traction is.
