GX460 Crossbars - Tighthen to 8 N.m?
Hello All!
I am in Ontario, Canada and would like to buy GX460 OEM cross bars. Would prefer the seller to be in Canada, but may also consider someone in the US as well.
Thanks!
UPDATE - JULY 10: I bought the Cross bars. One quick question for the guys that have installed it. In the instructions its says to tighten the bars up to 8 N.m (newton meters). Do you guys know how tight that would be? I have no clue!

I'd recommend to keep an eye on ebay. I picked up a set on there from a junkyard.

I just picked up a pair, new, for 205 on eBay. There were some for 195 but i didn't like that the photos were displaying the old sku #. I have not seen too many that were used or at any great savings to go used.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
I checked with some of the dealerships around Toronto and the rate is $335 CAD. (plus tax). One offered it for around $300 and I bought it as I am going on a trip soon.
It makes sense to buy it in the US, as some US websites are offering the bars for as low as $170 USD. (I just didnt have the time).

I just tighten it slightly tight, then give it a slight pull and push to make sure that nothing moves and recheck then tighten it just by feel but not super tight.

It comes with a small hex wrench with a red plastic indicator so you'll tighten it to the proper torque. The instruction page shows the tool. As you tighten it will flex and you stop tightening once it reaches the mark on the plastic indicator.

I did the same - I also tried my empty Thule roof box 2100 on it and took it to the highway for a quick spin - all good there.
I just fear that I might have over torqued it. It is sturdy and tight for sure - not sure if its a little too tight !

Nice! I bought mine used so it doesn't have the tool so I used my own.

Question for everybody who installed the cross bars - did the wind noise became noticeably higher? Part of the reason I like Lexus is a very quiet cabin, and I do not want that ruined.

I did not notice any change in noise after installing the crossbars. Even when I have a ski racks on I hear no noise inside the cabin. But when we drove a few hundred miles in 50 mph crosswind I could definitely hear that .
