I think you will be fine. Just get it plugged up and then you can forget about it. I'd be more concerned about water getting in there around my wiring and frankly that would probably require someone using a power washer or sprayer under the hood. Doubtful any noticeable water makes it up there even if you splashed a good size puddle while driving. CPO may not have caught this either and even then they probably would have just put a plug in like you intend to. You are still way ahead on the savings.
