High RPM going down hill
odd occurrence. Happens every now and then.
Going down hill my RPMs will hang at at 2000-3000 rpm. If foot is off the gas and coasting, lightly pushing brake, or giving it a little gas.
Any idea what what causes this?

Your GX is probably smart enough to realize that with the reduced load (downhill) it can pop it down a gear / engine brake, save some fuel, save your brakes, all while keeping the heavy vehicle from excessive downhill speeds (runaway).
I'm not an expert but that's all it sounds like to me. My LS demonstrates similar behavior when driving down the steeper stretches of road from the mountains in northern AZ to home in Phoenix, especially when I'm in cruise control.
Interested to hear what other people think though.
