Default Brake pad recommendation

Is there a pad recommended over OEM? Thank you.

Brake pads can often be like tires in terms of people's opinion on what's good and bad. I'm still running OEM on my GX, and I think they are pretty good. On other cars I've been through a number of different flavors, and the ones I've liked are the EBC Yellow Stuff (very dusty though) and Akebono pads. The latter are pretty good and have a decent bite without the dust problems that the Yellow Stuff have.

Toyota 4Runner pads which are ceramic pads instead of metallic.

+1 for Akebono. I've used them on many cars and they are highly recommended.
