Default F Sport Wheel Installation on 2013 GX460

Hello all,

Is it safe to have my F Sport wheels installed at my local Tire Plus (I already have a balance and alignment package with them) or is it best to have this done at the dealer? I'm planning on doing this tomorrow and upon reviewing the instructions which came with the wheels, they seem a bit more detailed (specially when it comes to the tire pressure monitoring system), so I want to be safe.

Thanks!

I don't think there's any tire/wheel package needed to be done at the dealer. Any shop with tire balancing machine should be able to put it on. I recently put new tires on my FSports wheels and just went to a small shop and they did a good job.

Thanks Dallasguy1! I forgot to mention I'm having the vibration issue after hitting 60 mph, so I don't now if this may need a road force balance. Did you do a road force balance?

Nope I didn't do road force just the regular balancing.

Dealers are good for service. They are awful at tires and washing. Tire shops are better equipped to make sure your tires are balanced correctly. In addition, they may offer a better variety of tires and better deals on tires.

Given I had the vibration issue and local tires place didn't resolve this on the last balance I did, I decided to go to the dealer. They did a test drive prior to installing the new wheels and determined that the road force balance on the tires were way off. They installed the new wheels with road force balance and everything turned out great. I hit 70 mph on the interstate and the truck felt fine, and I even have to admit it the ride feels much smoother with the F Sport wheels. The service rep at the dealer mentioned they just got a new balancing machine as well.

Thanks to all for the replies!

Thanks. Tires were are practically new and were inspected by dealer. It seems in the end it was a balancing issue.
