It still amazes me that the GX continues to sell pretty well. 2018 was the second highest sales year for this generation and the second highest since 2006 and later. Looks like Lexus isn't hurting by not having an updated or refreshed model out yet.

Hopefully that bodes well for a BoF future.

Side note... the LX sales seem to be suffering ...maybe from that recall stop sale from a month or so back.

so, Lexus sold 5 GX for every LX but they didn't invest into the GX since MY2014 while the LX was refreshed in MY2013 and MY2016.

2020 GX can't come fast enough..

The stop sale as mentioned above is probably a big factor, but the GX will outsell the LX given the near 50% increase barrier to entry.

I know i hope for too much, but hopefully they dont shift the GX upmarket inorder to make the RX-L even worth looking at it.

UX 30k
NX 40k
RX 45K
RX L 50K
Current GX 50K
LX 90K

They can but no one will buy the RXL. If it can't fit even a 5'1" woman in the 3rd row, it just extra weight and cost.

Probably because the LX needed more help. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

i assume this is attributable to age and not enough trunk money (or in the case of the GX Barn door money)

I actually think for a vehicle this old, inefficient and underpowered, relative to the competition, it is doing extremely well. I highly doubt even the RX will have this level of consistent sales as a 10yr old model.

I agree. I'm sure Lexus is very pleased. When they do redesign it, I hope they keep it classy and masculine.

Yes I wouldnt even mind if they just give me the direct injected 4.6L from the previous gen LS460. I can live with 355hp.

May 2019 sales

I had to include the FJ Cruiser... wonder what the story is behind this "old" new stock '14 being sold in US?
