Crazy. Shaping up to be one of the better years, if not the best, for the 460. Maybe all the included safety features in the MY20 and low gas prices brought in folks upgrading as well as maybe more of an overlap in the consideration set between the GX and the 4Runner?

New cars are selling hot currently. I stopped by visiting a friend at a Toyota dealer, and he mentioned the Rav4 Prime is the hottest item. Some lady paid $10k over invoice for one on the lot. Wow. Crazy!

What I see is the market being shut end of Q1, slow stagnant sales until Mid May where Lexus finally caves to pressure and puts up better finance offers to move the overstock of metal. June finally comes around with the 4k after 2 years hiatus and we see numbers to the sky. The real test though is when they pull back their 4k cash...

Maybe also very low interest/lending rates more generally. But still, those Dec-Feb numbers are really strong - looks like just March and April were dips.

You think the increase in demand is due in large part to Lexus making the driver assistance and collision avoidance technologies standard? Maybe this has lead to current GX owners upgrading? Would be interesting to know if the proportion sales with older GX trade-in has gone up or has remained flat.

didn't they have insane offers in late spring/early summer on the GX? i think its related to that because look at the jump from April to May. I think most people wanted to upgrade to something more expensive for a steal. Most people buy this car for the image. The RX is like a taxi and the LX is out of their price range so the GX fills the gap.

Any insight as to why December sales are higher most years?

Lexus is crushing it with the GX sales numbers... makes ya wander why they want to discontinue or overhaul it, it's such a gravy train. They must have something better in the works.

I know I sound like a broken record but, if Lexus continues their 4K push with some stellar pre-incentive dealer discounts the GX could really elevate the sales pictures consistently at 2k+ each and every month. But I assume gross over volume

Too bad its back down to the regular cash and virtually nil dealer discounts.

Well Lexus management has been making bad decisions for the better part of the last 10yrs so what's another bad decision to add to the wall of shame?

Maybe for emissions/fuel efficiency? I could see if they do a redesign of the LC150 that maybe it wouldn't really work as a North American Lexus. Other than on this forum, maybe most GX buyers don't really care that it is BOF? Seems like the 14+ styling implies that its off road ability isn't really a reason why most are buying the GX.
