Our GX is 6 months old. ~2600 miles. So I guess its due for its first service. I would wait a few more miles. I generally do all the services on our vehicles myself. And I like to do it all at once. So in the fall the oil changes, battery maint, fuel system etc to get ready for winter, and similar in spring to get ready for summer. But since Lexus is so nice to us,(Having bought their expensive car) they will do it for free. So It's going to them. Since this is only the second new car we have ever bought, and because of that, I have never really dealt with dealer service departments. So any words of wisdom? THX
Anything around 5k miles, the dealer probably just give it a wash, maybe rotate the tires. You can ask for oil change but some people reported that they won't do it.
You mentioned you off-road your GX some so you should mention that as they may change oil under the "Special Operating Conditions" provision of manual.
You also have this option.
List of default services performed.
EDIT: Looking at my service history it seems it wasn't off-roaded until I bought it. Oil & filter was changed at 5K miles at Lexus dealer via service history.
