Barn Door Latch Malfunction - Stuck open or closed

I have a 2011 Lexus GX460. The rear door handle gets "stuck" in what I am going to call the "open" position, preventing the door from closing.
I use a screw driver and press on the inner part of the handle which releases the handle. I push the door close so the latch catches.
I do not see any way on how to get to the inner workings of the door to lube the handle. Appreciate the insight of this group. Thanks!

When I bought my 2013 a few weeks ago, this was an issue. I was just pushing straight back in with my fingers to put the latch back in "closed" position, which worked OK, but was a hassle (but you shouldn't have to use a screwdriver - unless it's a different issue). Last week I injected a little spray oil into the small openings by the handle and into the small mechanism opening by the interior door latch, and worked it back and forth. Seems to be working fine now. Hope this helps. I'm sure a new latch is the answer, but this could get you buy for now.
