Acceleration Delay

Haven’t noticed my wife’s car doing this much in the past few months but last week it was doing it worse than ever before and almost felt like the transmission was slipping. I called my buddy who says he knows these cars well. He thinks it could be one of two things...1) need to change out transmission fluid or 2) check with Lexus to see if there could be a new programming on the transmission. Apparently his wife’s GX in the past had a similar issue and #2 fixed it.
I haven’t tried either one yet, just been too busy. Any thoughts from the experts here on options 1 or 2? I am pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff.
Cheers!
I also don't think it new transmission programming - the truck has a built date of July 2018, a month ago. Will try it again today and see if there are any changes. Seems to only happen when on the freeway going from 40mph to 60-70mph.

I had a very similar issue with my RCF - throttle response would lag trying to come out of a corner or go from cruising to accelerating. Lot's of posts on the RCF forum about it , not really a fix for it that I can recall. Some guys put in the Apexi controllers and indicated better results but I'm not sure that fixes the core issue which to me seemed like it stayed in 5th or 6th as the car slowed down instead of downshifting.
