I also want to thank the forum as I tried the tape "mod" and it completely silenced the squeaks.

based on the scaring on the striker, when i loosen the screws, should i lower the blue side +/- 1mm at a time until the noise goes away?

Default Help with a a noise

I need help....I know this sounds trival but I have a sweak that sounds like its coming from the rear window and I have wd-40'd every bolt and hinge I can find. Only thing I havent yet tried is a rubber rejuvenator on the door and window seals and the two little rubber pads that the window rests on. I swear I'm only making this thread because I'm going to burn the f@#$%&# thing to ground if I have to keep driving with this constant sweak. Anyone who may have encountered this before that can help, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

mostly coming from the rear door latch, wrap a piece of tape around it and it will go away.

I agree, latch can be the culprit. Also check the jack, it can be slightly loose as well.

Are you talking about the square hoop that the door latch catches on?

I put a small amount of lithium grease in the latch catch on both top and bottom and it seemed to have solved the problem for now.

If it comes back there are other methods to resolve this with adjustments that I wasn’t aware of or tape used by others.

Interesting solution to a problem I didn’t know about.

Has anyone received and installed these shims yet?

Tape quieted my 460's barn door. Interested in the results from the spacers.
