I take dealer info with a big grain of salt but it would make sense to see a refreshed '19 model, considering they just recenrly refreshed the Prado and we're going on year #5 of this current facelift.

Judging by past history we won't see it until September or October, possibly later. Might get a leak sooner than that though.

another facelifts? Just like the 2016 LX570? Same engine, 8 speed auto, 12.3" remote touch screen, Lexus safety system+, newer front end....

Nevermind, I just talked to him and it is going to be available next summer, not this summer but said it was really nice and the interior was similar to the LX as is the exterior. I don’t think I can wait that long so I’m still looking elsewhere.

LOL you're right mine is a 2008 SR5 5.7L and there's hardly any difference in it and the new ones.

2020 is the all new LX next gen truck platform according to leaks, soo if the current oldest Lexus model aka GX gets refreshed to become a mini LX, then within a year it will already be outdated.....and again we are back in the cycle of the GX always gets the shortest stick.

This article was recent on autonews interviewing the lead engineer for fullsize trucks: http://archive.is/Okw0C

Talks about the new global truck architecture which will underpin all of the BOF lineup, presumably Lexus too. Says we could see the new Tundra "as soon as next year" (aka 2019). We've already seen the 2019 Tundra TRD Pro, which is the same truck, so hopefully that means a new Tundra for 2020 MY that is released late 2019 or early 2020. Tundra is so long in the tooth, Ford, Chevy, even Nissan are way ahead now.

Historically the new LX comes first, then GX. Seems like as a flagship truck the LX/Landcruiser would be the first to debut on a new platform, so that would indicate a 2020MY, possibly even 2019MY for LX and landcruiser, but who knows for sure. New platform GX, Prado, 4Runner presumably a year thereafter.

Edit: Here's a 2017 article from autonews with their speculation: http://www.autonews.com/article/2017...transformation

GX: Assuming a decadelong cycle for the chassis, look for a new GX in 2020 for the 2021 model year. Maybe.

LX: Lexus actually outsells the Toyota version of this body-on-frame Goliath, the Land Cruiser, in the large premium SUV category. Both were freshened for 2016, with the Lexus getting the big spindle grille. For the 2018 model year, the Lexus carries over with some Enform infotainment updates. A redesign could come with other body-on-frame platforms, such as the Toyota Tundra pickup. The Tundra is due for a new generation in 2019 or 2020.
Again given we've now seen the 2019 TRD Pro Tundra unveil and it's the same truck, this would put Tundra and hopefully LC/LX in 2020, and then hopefully GX year after. If we're lucky we'll get an early leak for the new LX from the middle east like we did on the 2nd refresh.

I was watching a youtube video review of the 2018 Land Cruiser Prado. A bunch of car journalists were flown to Namibia to go on an off-road trek. The lead car was this white Toyota? what is this?

It was a good video that shows the true capabilities of the GX / Prado.

Here is the video

No question the GX needs a new model - It's not even mentioned as a comparison vehicle in reviews of similar other-manufacturer vehicles any more.

The problem with the Ford V6 EcoBoost motors is that you're on the boost way too often, and that just blows your economy out the window. So maybe Lexus could go with a small V8 twin turbo - something like a 4.0 with a 8+ speed gearbox so that there's enough torque and gearing to go up many hills without having to go on-boost, but not so large that you could still get 20mpg highway (17.6 on my recent weekend trip down I-95, ouch.)
